About this Cook
I'm a wife and mother of a 12-year-old girl. I'm excited to find the time to submit some of my favorite recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Any recipe I find on this site. It's a lot of fun to read the reviews and take it from there!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have taken over Thanksgiving cooking for the past 7 years, so that would have to be it.
My cooking triumphs
I have a wonderful steamed clams recipe that people ask me to make. So far no other recipe or rest. has compared to it. 1/09/08: I bought myself a KitchenAid stand mixer for Christmas and my first 2 attempts at making bread have been excellent. I wish I could find more uses for my mixer. I need to be able to justify my little gift to my husband!
My cooking tragedies
I'd have to say my tragedy was when I was 10. I heard making bread was hard. Little did I know! The bread made a great door-prop though!

Mongolian Beef and Spring Onions
I used less brown sugar then called for. The addition of a little hoisin sauce was perfect! Next time I'll make sure to lightly coat the cornstarch. I served with rice and bean threads...yummers!

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy
Almost perfect! Next time I'm going to triple the spices and soak the chicken in buttermilk with a little salt overnight. I used half of the oil.

Quiche
My family doesn't eat quiche, but I like it! After making this they are now quiche people. I used cheddar, swiss and parmasean, which was on-hand. I also added fresh mushrooms, ham and green onions sliced. I baked @ 350 for 45 minutes. Wow!
