Harvest Pork Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
I used what I had and improvised for our food preferences.I only gave this four stars because I tweeked it so much. The spices are excellent. Omitted apples and squash and just did potatoes and carrots. The rosemary and sage are what makes this stew! I substituted a little basil for lack of bay leaf and it was delicious. I did think it needed about 1c more of liquid. I added 1.5 Tbsp of cornstarch to thicken it some. Will make it again!

Lentil Chili II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I think this would be a great soup if you follow some of the other reviewers suggestions for spices. For us, it had too many lentils, which caused lots of indigestion. ;-) If I made it again, I would change it up a bit.

This was such a yummy bread! I gave it as gifts this year and everyone loved it. I think it will be a Christmas staple.

Dawn's Easy Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Yum-Yum-Yum!! These were so easy! I made them for my father in law for Christmas and they were a hit! I did not use this icing recipe. I used a very old "mystery icing" recipe from the 60's that belonged to his mother. Delish!

Cranberry Oat Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I love to bake cookies and have quite a bit of experience doing so as well as a reputation for making good cookies. I was extremely disappointed in this recipe. It was not what I was expecting at all. This recipe needs some portion readjusting. The one given here makes a dry cookie that is very bland and pasty. Where I come from, bland and cookie are never used in the same sentence ;-)

Sweet Onion BBQ Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
I did not make the mayo sauce to go with it, as hubby hates mayo. I did spread BBQ sauce on both sides of the bun before putting them together. And I still got plenty of groans and moans as he was chowing down these burgers! They were outstanding!! In the words of my hubby, "These are a definite do-over".

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
YUMM!! DELICIOUS!! This recipe makes a TON so I recommend cutting it in half unless you plan on feeding about 50 people with it. Half the recipe would easily serve 20-30 as an appetizer. I served it with cinnamon graham sticks. It was a hit!

Carol's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
This is the first 5-star recipe from Allrecipes that I have been disappointed in. The recipe calls for too much poultry seasoning in my opinion. The sage taste totally overwhelmed this recipe. When I make it again, I will leave out the poultry seasoning and instead just do some rosemary and thyme. Other than the powerful sage taste, I think it was a good recipe.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
This is a SUPER SUPER recipe! I have been making it for almost 3 years in a row and I get asked to bring this at every holiday gathering. The topping is really what makes this dish - and using really great sweet potatoes of course!

Miniature Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2004
I have made this recipe before only use a Pecan Sandie for the crust instead of a vanilla wafer - it makes for a much tastier dessert!!
