About this Cook
Grew up in a heavy Italian influenced family. Both sets of grand parents cook as do both of my parents. When i did move out it was learn how to cook or starve. Well i love to eat good food so i learned how to cook. I enjoy it even more so when i can share what i make with friends and family.
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian. Would like to try sushi but i have a sligh fear of working with raw fish and making everyone sick :P
My favorite family cooking traditions
Getting together with my father and aunts and making home made ravioli or cavatelli. Thats an all day event that will yeld about 15 dozen ravioli. Spending time with the family is definatly number one in my book.
My cooking triumphs
I had a casual dinner party of 12 people. Well a few extra guest showed up and by the end of the night there were 30 people at my house. No one went home hungry. Amazingly enough i even had some left overs. Dont ask how i did it because i still ponder that one.
My cooking tragedies
Well its not really a tragedie but i did have a small dinner party where i made a beautiful rabbit alla Siciliana. When i told eveyone we were having buggs bunny for dinner no one wanted to eat. Some of my friends have issues with eating things i kill myself. my oppinion those are the best meals....dam city people LOL.

Out of this World Turkey Brine
I had a cold and couldn't taste anything on the night I smoked this bird. My family said it was the best dam turkey they have ever tasted and were looking forward to another invite for a smoked turkey dinner.

Irish Cream Chocolate Cheesecake
Made this for work the other day. Being that it was the first cheese cake I have ever made I know know it may be the last receipie I will ever use. It was turned out freaking awsome. I used chocolate gramcracker crust and added fresh whipping cream and crushed gramcrackers on top as well. Eveyone said it looking like i bought it at a bakery instead of making it myself. I think i might try it next with out the irish cream plan gramcrackers and fresh strawberrys next....

Sweet Green Bean Bundles
Would have given it four and a half if i could. These string beans were freaking awsome. The bacon on the other hand needed to be cooked a bit longer. If only i had listened to the other recommendations and precooked it prior to using it. I used fresh string beans and cooked them for about 7 min in boiling water befor wraping them with the bacon. Will definately make again with a few tweaks.
