Banana Coconut Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly except I omitted the cherries and walnuts. This was delicious and such a great recipe that it's going in my special recipe binder! I may sprinkle some brown sugar on top before I bake it next time. Excellent recipe-thank you!

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
We were so impressed with this recipe! I had 2 cups of beef broth left over from another recipe so I used that plus 4 cups (one box) chicken broth and this was delicious. I also put some in the blender to thicken it up a little. I left the hot sauce out and added like a garnish. This is a spicy recipe and so full of flavor. We topped it with cheddar cheese, sour cream and fresh cilantro. Thank you for such a great recipe!!

Hamburger Goulash

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2004
This was pretty good and very easy...my 2 year old even liked it. I used 4 large potatoes and did not use the macaroni at all because it would have been too dry. If you want to add the pasta it would need to be pre-cooked which is probably what the author meant anyway.

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
This was easy and very good. I used a smaller carton of ricotta cheese and it was plenty. Once the casserole was assembled, I poked the casserole with a fork in several places and wiggled the fork to help the sauce mixture soak in before baking. It really tastes like lasagna but a lot easier.

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
Excellent. I thinned it a little bit with whole milk. I think it is important to refrigerate 24 hours so don't skip this step.

New England Clam Chowder I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
Fairly good potato soup but not a hearty clam chowder. This is more like thin potato-bacon soup with some canned clams thrown in.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
I'm so happy I found this recipe!! I poached 3 frozen chicken breasts from Sams, used 2 cans of cream of chicken (no cream of mushroom), sliced an 8oz package of mushrooms in thick slices and added a big handful of frozen peas. Salt and pepper generously. We really enjoyed this and it's sure to become a favorite in our house!

Hush Puppies I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
After reading the reviews, I used 1 cup of milk and 1/4 cup of water and it turned out fine. Next time I will add more seasonings but this is a good start as a basic hush puppy recipe.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2004
I'd like to rate this a 6!! My husband and I are wishing we had more. This is better than anything I've ever ordered from a seafood restaurant. I subbed garlic for celery salt and had to microwave b/c oven broke. Outstanding.
