World's Best Lasagna
OMG!! I have made alot of lasagna in my life and for the most part it was okay at best...then I saw John Chandler on GMA and thought what the heck, I'll give it a try! Well.. I now have a new meat sauce recipe that I will use for anything that needs a red sauce...I used fresh grated parm (I grated it myself) and shredded instead of sliced Mozzarella) I, too added about 1/4 t of nutmeg to the ricotta mixture...I used dried parsley instead of fresh , I doubled the fennel seed (because I love fennel) and I doubled the sugar...the simmer time is critical in my opinion...every time i stirred the sauce the better it tasted! Next time I will make it a day ahead..I used Bob Evans Italian sausage in the 1 lb. roll added a little extra onion and doubled the garlic, and used beef broth instead of water...other that, I followed the recipe...I cannot wait to try this sauce on spaghetti!! I used a 9x13 foil pan and it was perfect and I did get 3 layers out of the recipe...next time I will double the recipe and freeze one....OMG...some of the best lasagna I have ever eaten if not the best and super easy in my opinion...even a novice in the kitchen should not have a problem with this one! Watch the video it helps you get the assembly process down...GREAT STUFF!! Some of the most authentic tasting lasagna I have ever eaten! I would put it up against any Italian restaurant lasagna!
