Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2012
Absolutely delicious. I added an extra egg as some have advised for the chewy factor. As such, the dough was a bit loose for rolling, but chilling it for a few minutes in the fridge before baking solved that. I will definitely be adding these to my tried and true Christmas cookie list. Double the batch, trust me... you'll be glad you did!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
love these! i've made them just as written (great), and have also made them with a couple minor changes (also great). i typically add a splash of vanilla to just about everything, and pancake batter is no exception. i also substituted a butter type spread for the butter once, and they turned out equally good (and less fattening!). in my house i don't call these 'fluffy pancakes', i call them 'MY pancakes'. :) thanks for the great recipe!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
delicious waffles. the texture is perfect, slightly crispy on the outside, light and fluffy inside. i usually make the whole batch, then refrigerate the leftovers (if there are any). break them apart and they heat up beautifully in the toaster for a quick before work breakfast. thanks for the great recipe!

Quick and Easy Mexican Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
Very very good! I found it a bit difficult to evenly 'rub' the chicken with such a small amount of garlic, so i added garlic powder (along w/the salt, pepper and cumin) on both sides, and will probably eliminate the fresh garlic next time (though I do love it). I also tenderized the chicken first with a mallet (always do, makes such a difference), so it was tender enough to cut with a fork. Served with spanish rice, sweet corn, fresh cilantro and sour cream on side. Delicious!

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
Mmm, very good! I served this alongside Quick and Easy Mexican Chicken, also found on AllRecipes. Topped both with fresh cilantro and a bit of sour cream on the side. Yellow corn makes a great side also, the sweetness really compliments the spicy rice. Thanks for the tasty and easy recipe!

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
these cookies are soooo good. use ingredients exactly as called for, and you can't go wrong. personally, i think the colored sugar in the recipe photo degrades this very delicious (for adults as well) cookie. just use plain white sugar unless you're making them for kids. also, i do not grease the cookie sheets, and have no sticking problems. 10 minutes is perfect. a fabulous and most requested holiday cookie!

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2010
I'll start with what I didn't like about these (because that's the very short list). Using the recipe as written, these were just a little too dry for my liking. Having said that, if you like the Pecan Sandie texture for your spritz cookies (crumbly and melt in your mouth), then these will be right on the money for you. On to the good! The flavor of these is wonderful. I have absolutely no idea what the reviewers mentioning an 'aftertaste' are on about. It tastes like a hint of almond, because... well, there's almond extract in the receipe. It certainly isn't bitter or unpleasant using the 1/2 tsp as directed. Tastes PERFECT to me. To sum up, if you like more of a shortbread texture in your spritz cookies, then give these a try, you won't be disappointed. If you like them with just a bit more hard weight (as I do), then try a different recipe. There are many to choose from!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
this bread is delicious, wouldn't change a thing. i used 9x5 loaf pans (all i have), and i'd say the bake time was close to 60 minutes. so so good... i can't stop picking at it. thanks 'mom'!

Ramen Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 29, 2010
Mmm, tasty. I just made this, and tried a bite before popping it in the fridge. Love it! (and this is from someone who never met a coleslaw she liked). Out of necessity, I did make a few minor substitutions... Used chives instead of green onions, and chopped pecans instead of almonds. It's still delicious. I think the key is the dressing and the toasted sesame seeds. I will make this often. Thanks for the great recipe!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
These were delicious. The only thing I did differently was use red/orange/yellow bells (bf hates green...nut). I also used pre-diced tomatoes, instead of chopping up whole canned ones. I was unsure about the tomato soup, but it works. It didn't seem like soup at all with everything else going on. Great recipe. Also, try using canned diced tomatoes w/green chiles for a little extra kick. Both ways are delish!

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
Wonderful sweet tea. The only problem is that, when made as written, it only makes 8 cups... which lasts about 8 minutes in our house! :) BF says "this can be in the fridge all the time". I agree. I can see this tea taking getting a permanent spot alongside the milk and oj. If you plan to make this often, as I do, buy the big tea bags. Only takes 2.

Quick and Easy Home Fries

Very very good. This has been my most successful (and appreciated) stab at breakfast potatoes yet. PERFECTLY COOKED using the times and method provided. The second time I made them I threw in some sliced onion, a little garlic powder, and a bit of parsley.. also great!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Great marinade. I only made half of the recipe for 1 large cut, and it was perfect. Very very flavorful, but not overwhelming. Will definitely be making this again. Thanks for the great recipe!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
Delicious. The only flaw, in my opinion, is the amount of salt in the sauce. WAY too salty for both my husband and I, and we're salt lovers. I'd say halve the amount of salt in the sauce, and follow everything else exactly as is. This dish does require a bit of time, but it is so worth the effort. Made it with the Bread Machine Italian Bread, also from this site. Wonderful!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
These cookies are truly delicious. Very cake-like and light. My boyfriend requested that I make them again.. and again. 3 times in 2 weeks! The only suggestion I would make pertains to the icing recipe. If you intend to only drizzle the icing (rather than fully ice them), halve the icing recipe. It's far too much. The first time I made them, I ended up throwing quite a bit of it away.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
I paired this recipe with The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies, also found on AllRecipes. Fabulous. Once dried, the icing maintains glossy vibrant color, and is easy to work with. This will definitely be my go-to sugar cookie icing recipe.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
Great recipe. My first shot at roll out sugar cookies, and I'm very pleased with how these turned out. I chilled the dough for one hour, and it couldn't have been easier to work with. Not sticky, and didn't dry out. I personally wouldn't find these sweet enough sans icing, but with they are very tasty. Will definitely make again!
