Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
What a wonderful, light salad! We loved it! And the dressing is really good as well. Will make this often.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This is excellent though pretty mild. I added a little cayenne pepper and about 1 T. cumin. That made it good for me. Husband added Tapatio to heat it up even more. Very good though!

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
Made this for Christmas morning. It was fabulous! Every bit as good as my homemade cinnamon rolls and way easier! I used the "cheap" refrigerated biscuits and otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Will definitely make again!

Scrumptious Beef and Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
This was very bland! Not sure what could be done to increase the flavor. Husband liked it better than I did but I wasn't very fond of it. Probably won't make it again.

Korean Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
Very good! Subbed sesame oil for vegetable oil and used a whole carrot and whole green onion. Ate the whole batch myself! Will definitely make again and next time I'll share it!

Chicken Soup III

This was great! Instead of rice I used a batch of homemade noodles. Wonderful flavor! Will definitely make again.

Crunchy Peanut Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
I came in to review this recipe and realized I had omitted the rice cereal when I made it! I used dipping chocolate instead of white coating, and I simply poured it into an 8 x 8 pan. It was so easy and ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Will have to try it again with the rice cereal but it's great without it too!

I was a little disappointed in these. Not sure what I expected but felt like they were nothing special. Probably won't make again.

Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This pie, though very labor intensive, look beautiful when it came out of the oven. Unfortunately it didn't taste as good as it looked. The oregano was overwhelming and that was really the only thing we could taste. Won't make it again.

Skillet Chops with Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
This was very good. I browned and cooked the pork chops then removed them from the pan and made the gravy. I didn't put the chops in the gravy but served it along side with rice. Way more gravy than we needed but it was good. In the bread crumbs I added garlic powder, thyme, Italian seasoning and parsley flakes. Will make again.

This is a very good pumpkin bread! Followed the recipe exactly but added about 3/4 cup chopped pecans to it. Husband loves it!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
To use my husband's words, "fantastic". Only change I made was to soak my raisins for a few minutes in hot water because they weren't the freshest and to add about 3/4 cup chopped pecans because I didn't have walnuts. Will absolutely make again. Thanks for the great recipe!

Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Great! I had half a bag of red potatoes that needed to be used so made this. It was much better the second day but was good even the first day. Husband said it was much better than "store bought"! That's good enough for me! Followed the recipe except that I added a little more celery and dill pickles and doubled the vinegar for tang. Thanks!

Chili Seasoning Mix II

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
Really good! I did use 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper instead of red pepper flakes and used Mexican oregano instead of basil. Also used an equal amount of cumin to chili powder because we love the taste of cumin. With these substitution I used 1/4 cup of seasoning as I would one packet of seasoning mix. It's really good!! Just enough heat to suit us. Will no longer buy the packet stuff!

Okra with Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2008
This was really very good. Used fresh garden tomatoes because I had them. Added about 1/2 cup celery since I didn't use the stewed tomatoes. Also added 1/2 cup instant brown rice and 1 cup water to make it a little bit more "substantial". Will be great for lunch or as a side dish. Will definitely make again.

Santa Fe Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
This was OK but not wonderful. I think we would have preferred more of a southwestern marinade.

Hazelnut-Mushroom Pilaf

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2008
This was really very good. Used beef broth instead of chicken because I was serving it with beef and used toasted sliced almonds instead of hazelnuts. Also didn't have any mushrooms so just left them out. Husband really liked it. Think I'd like it as written also. Will definitely make it again!

Teriyaki Tuna Steaks

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
This was really good. I've never cooked tuna steaks before but this worked very well and was really tasty. It was a little dry so I think we overcooked them a little bit so will not grill quite so long next time.
