Favorite Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
Really a great barbeque sauce! I thought it might be too sweet but once the chicken was cooked with it on it was perfect! Only thing I did different was add about 1 tsp liquid smoke and marinade the chicken in the cooled sauce for about 2 hours before grilling. Will definitely make again.........and often!

Wanda's Chicken Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2006
We really didn't care for this dish. It wasn't bad but really not good either. Very bland and "soupy". Will not make again as there are lots of other ways to used cooked chicken that we like better. Sorry.

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2006
This was one of the most moist chickens we have ever had! We didn't find it spicy at all but it was really good and very easy! Next time might try rubbing some of the spices under the skin. Did add 1/2 an onion to the cavity for flavor and moistness. Will definitely make again!

Texas Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2006
It was way too spicy but was also just a strange combination of flavors. And it's not that we don't like tex-mex because we do but not this. Will certainly not make it again!

Chocolate Earthquake Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
Made this for my husband for his birthday. Wow what a great cake!! Decreased powdered sugar to about 3 cups and added 10 minutes to bake time per other reviewers and was perfect! Thanks for a great and easy dessert recipe!

Chicken Chile Spaghetti

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2006
This is an interesting recipe. Very different with the pasta. I used fresh mushrooms instead of the canned. I think I may try using torn corn tortillas instead of the pasta in it next time to see if we like it better. All in all the flavor was pretty good but it just seemed strange with the pasta. Husband had two servings though so you know he didn't dislike it.

Mexican Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2006
I loved these beans but my husband hated them due to the cilantro! Followed recipe exactly except used a serrano pepper with seeds and membranes instead of jalapeno because I had one that needed to be used. Just a little bit of subtle warmth. Will probably make again without the cilantro.

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2006
This chicken was very moist and tasty. Used seasoned bread crumbs because that was all I had and skinned the chicken before coating it but it was still tender and juicy with very good flavor! Husband who absolutely loves fried chicken really liked this and it's much healthier and far less mess to make. Will definitely make again!

Roasted Green Chile Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2006
Wow, was this ever good! I used Bueno frozen roasted chilies as someone else suggested and beef broth because I didn't have vegetable broth. Served it with cooked pinto beans and flour tortillas. Absolutely wonderful! Will definitely make again and again. Reminds us of the pork green chili stew from a small Mexican restaurant where we used to live.

This soup was good but not the best I've ever made. Probably won't make it again.

Mouth Watering Medley

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
Not sure why we didn't like this but it was really bland! Husband put hot sauce on it but I just simply didn't eat it. It seemed very dry. Not nearly enough egg in it for me! Will not make again.

The Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
This was a very good meatloaf. I have been on the hunt for a good one for a very long time and I think this may be it. It seemed a little salty so may cut that down. I used crackers instead of bread so that's probably why. Husband loved it! Will definitely do again.

Bavarian Mints

This was really good! A little lighter than regular fudge but just the right amount of mint. Made a nice addition to my holiday gift plates. And was easy too!

Wild River Bloody Mary Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2005
This is a really good bloody mary mix. I also add about 1/2 tsp. horseradish and use celery seed instead of celery salt but otherwise follow the recipe exactly. I've tried lots of them and this is by far the best!

Ziti with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2005
This was a delicious recipe for baked ziti. Subbed bottled pasta sauce and only used about 12 oz of ziti based on other reviews. Also used 8 oz fresh mushrooms. Fabulous! Will repeat often.

Southwestern Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2005
I made so many changes to this recipe that I probably shouldn't rate it. First I used about 2-3 cups chopped turkey. I omitted the cream of mushroom soup and added one can of tomatoes with green chilies. Also added 1 tsp ground cumin and 1 tsp fajita seasoning and stirred the turkey, soup, chilies, tomatoes, sour cream, 1/3 cup chopped cilantro and spices together and let sit for about an hour in the refrigerator before assembling the casserole. I then layered it as directed. After baking I sprinkled with sliced green onions. I served this with salsa on the side as it wasn't spicy enough for my husband. We both liked it a lot after the changes. It's a really good and different way to use the leftover turkey.

Cinnamon Glazed Walnuts

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2005
Wow are these good! And really easy to make. Very subtly sweet with just a hint of heat. I did try making a second batch using Splenda. Don't try it! Not nearly as good! Will use these on my Christmas gift trays this year.
