Beef Stew VI

Very good. I did make a few changes, I dusted the beef in 1/4 c flour, 1tsp garlic powder and pepper, shaken in a plastic bag? Always use canola when browning meat, it gets much hotter than vegetable and will seer the meat while sealing in the juices. Make sue oil is good and hot before adding meat. I added 3/4 of cup of red wine to the the broth. If you wouldn't drink a glass of the wine then you shouldn't use it in your recipes, only the good stuff. Added 1tsp of basil. I also did as Chuck did and added more vegetables, (used red skin potatoes with skins on) and1 tablespoon each of ketchup, A1 and Worcester Sauce. I also doubled the corn starch as I wanted it thicker. I served it in bread bowls and it was yummy!
