About this Cook
I'm a creative writing student at Washington University in St. Louis. I recently moved in with my amazing boyfriend, so I'm cooking all the time now. He claims I haven't had a miss yet, but, well, he is in love with me.
My favorite things to cook
I cook lots of pasta and vegetables. I also love making tasty treats like cake and cookies. The majority of what I make is Italian, and I'm getting better and more confident every day. I love just sauteing vegetables and herbs and putting it over pasta, and I love using my steamer to make perfect jasmine rice and veggies!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother and grandmother are both fantastic cooks. My grandmother makes the best chicken noodles. And my mom is practically legendary at my alma mater for her peanut butter kiss cookies.
My cooking triumphs
I feel triumphant every day when I finish dinner and we enjoy it :)
My cooking tragedies
Most of my worst cooking tragedies came in middle school. The apple turnovers...the Welsh rarebit...yikes.

Banana Banana Bread
Awesome! I doubled the recipe, but didn't change anything else, and it turned out so tasty. Really moist but not overly so. Perfect!

Lilley Mashed Potato Casserole
tasty, albeit high in fat. i threw in some green beans and chicken broth, which gave it some additional texture. i made this extra-quick by using the packaged refrigerated carton of mashed potatoes!

Twelve Minute Pasta Toss
yummy yummy yummy! to make this even quicker, i use the pre-roasted, pre-cubed tyson chicken breast and then saute it with garlic and veggies--then toss the pasta, chicken, and veggies all together in the original pasta pot with butter and basil. easy and flavorful, even without sauce!
