This Recipe won me FIRST PLACE in an "Amateur Apple Pie Baking Contest". I will definitely be making this one again!
I have some helpful recommendations: Take about 3/4 of the sugar and butter liquid and mix with the apples before putting them in the pie crust. Then place the lattice crust over top and pour the rest of the liquid over top. I tried it the first time the way the directions say to do it and none of it seeped through to the apples which left the apples flavorless, so definitely mix it prior. Also, I added a teaspoon of cinnamon with the sugar mix...excellent touch! I also used 'Grandma's Secret Pie Crust' recipe for the crust which turned out fantastic!
