Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2015
This is a magnificent recipe. I've made it about 6 times now, as written and tweaked. This is what I ended up with. I mash the bananas. I added the sour cream and vanilla to the butter mixture BEFORE I combined it with the dry ingredients. I also added one tsp of banana extract and 1/4 tsp of butter extract. Extracts can make the things your baking come out over-the-top fantastic. But ease into it. It's easy to use to much.

I made this exactly as directed and it turned out perfect. Just turn your brain off and follow the recipe as if you are a robot and you will have delicious peanut butter fudge.

World's Best Pasta Sauce!

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2014
I followed the recipe exactly, EXCEPT I tripled the black pepper. I also didn't have fennel. Great recipe. Nice sweet, flavorful sauce. I needed a good pasta sauce recipe and found a great one. Like all good sauces it's even better the second day.

Spiced Applesauce Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2014
We have a B&B and this bread is in our regular rotation. It is very easy to make, as is the cleanup. The recipe as written is very bland especially when you're calling it applesauce spice bread. I triple the listed spices and add 1/2 teaspoon ginger and 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves. I also add 1/2 teaspoon apple extract. It gets raves every time.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2014
We own a B&B and this has gotten rave reviews. The only thing I changed was I replaced half of the oil with applesauce. I also highly recommend you check out the Extreme Banana Bread and the Jewish coffee cake. Both are excellent, just not as good as this recipe. PS I can't stand zucchini but I LOVE this bread

Jewish Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
We run a bed and breakfast. I've made this cake perhaps 50 times. It is fantastic. Like many (take the hint) I subbed brown sugar for the powdered. I add an extra teaspoon of cinnamon to the dry ingredients. I doubled the vanilla and added 1/2 teaspoon of butter extract. I would check it at 50 minutes. I loosely put a piece of foil over the top for the last 10 minutes.
