About this Cook
17, Loves experimenting with different flavour combinations. Food-Channel Addict
My favorite things to cook
Anything sweet or baked
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year my family makes cookies during Eid. And we also have 'special' meals during birthdays
My cooking triumphs
My lava muffins, black bottom cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies are my pride and joy. Also, my creme brulees and creme caramel came out perfect the first time I made them, so that was a happy day
My cooking tragedies
I think hot sugar and I are not meant to be. I ended up making toffee when I tried to make a caramel sauce (but it was still delicious so whose complaining?)And when I tried to make toffee..I made rocks

Chocolate Cake II
Nothing great..i think salt would have upped the flavour factor that was sorely lacking. My mother wasn't even sure what flavour it was! Sorry, but this did not work for me. But it was SO easy to put together so it gets points for that :)

Carrot Cake III
Wow. this was worth grating all those carrots(about 5 small-medium carrots=3 cups)! I used all the changes gneebeanie mentioned. Applesauce was Sarah's apple sauce from this website. Subbed pecans with walnuts, added in pineapples and baked in 2 9inch pans for apporx 30min. As for the frosting i kind of eyeballed it..I used less cream cheese because that was all i had and it STILL turned out yummy :) love it!

Sarah's Applesauce
I love this! The only applesauce I've eaten is the stuff in McDonald's apple pie... My apples seemed small so I used 5 of them, but I stuck to the amount of water and sugar stated. At the end of 15min it seemed too watery (not quite sure what I was looking out for though), so i let it boil uncovered for 5min more. I couldn't wait so i just mashed it while hot. Delicious :)
