Mormon Champagne

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2012
I first made this punch because it is so simple. I have had to make it again and again because my friends request it. Haven't met a person yet who does not like this punch, and I have served it to hundreds! Works well in a fountain punch bowl. Number of servings listed here is a little conservative. I get about 22 servings per recipe.

Orange Glazed Carrots

Mmmm. Just like Mom's but much easier. I especially like this recipe because the glaze is flavorful, but light.

Soul Smothered Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2006
This turned out fantastic! No modifications needed to the recipe. Even my family of picky eaters ate it. I'm ashamed to say how many servings we had.

Caramel Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2005
These are great. I used 3 bags of microwave popcorn (Pop Secret 94% fat free)and followed the rest of the recipe to a "T". It made 24 scrumptious popcorn balls.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
Hmmmm, this is good, but I thought Stroganoff was made with sour cream--not cream cheese. I made this recipe with cream cheese as stated. It is good, but has anyone tried this substituting sour cream for cream cheese for the more traditional stroganoff taste?

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2005
Good, but it is nothing like the chinese dish, green pepper steak. It tastes more like swiss steak. Followed recipe exactly with no substitutions.

Chicken and Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2005
This is good! I added 1/4 cup white wine and so I had to double the corn starch to compensate. Also, not sure how much a "packet" of chicken bouillon is, but I ended up using 2 tsps. This dish reminded me of an entree I get at The Olive Garden - Chicken Vino Bianco. It would be great served over pasta with a side salad.

Fried Butterflied Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2005
This is just what I was looking for. My kids do not like my fried shrimp because they are too spicy. This is perfect for them. I did use seasoned bread crumbs to add a little flavor and added the 1/4 cup of corn meal. I also halved the water and cornstarch as suggested. You should also halve the bread crumb mixture. I did about 2 1/2 pounds of shrimp and had at least half of the bread crumb mixture left. Adults will probably find this recipe bland. Just add garlic powder and paprika to spice it up.

Cooking Light magazine's Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2005
This is a tasty dish. But, if you are counting calories, it's really not that light. If you eat it over 1 serving of pasta that will add about 200 calories. If you were to add a side salad and a slice of french bread that would put you close to or over 1000 calories. I'm ashamed to say my meal amounted to a little over 1200 calories. So now I'm off to burn more calories.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2005
Very Good. I started this recipe with boned chicken I already had in the freezer. So, I created the broth with chicken bouillon cubes. I only had 1 can of cream of celery so I added 1 cream of chicken to it. At this point it was way too salty so I added another cup of water and no additional salt or pepper. Dumplings came out great with Pillsbury's Golden Homestyle Buttermilk buscuits. Most chicken and dumplings I have had before have a thin clear broth. This recipe produces a thicker cream style broth, but the taste is still great!

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
The taste was O.K. but, the texture was chewy. If yours comes out this way too, its because the mixture never got to a high enough temperature during the cooking process. I had to throw my batch out! I think I'll stick with the good old candy thermometer method.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
Very good. I did thin out the sauce with extra broth before pouring it over the chicken to bake. But, don't make it too thin, because the baking process does thin it out some on its own.

Million Dollar Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
I made this for my Mom's 81st birthday. Everyone loved it. The only change I would make is preparing it the day before the party. It really does taste better on the second day.
