Homemade Tomato Sauce II

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2014
Full rich bodied flavour, love it. I did as other readers suggested and added oregano, cut down the water to 1.5 cups, added a carrot to cut down acidity and added 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes. I didn't have fresh basil so I used 1 tbsp. dried. Didn't have any celery so I used 1/8 tsp celery seed. Awesome sauce. Thank you for sharing!!!

Easy Curry Couscous

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2014
This is a wonderfully easy recipe to make. I love the curry taste, so next time I will probably add another half tablespoon curry. As one reviewer suggested, I added cooked cubed chicken, peas, and I also added a chopped apple. Turned out great. Thank you reviewers and thank you Janis P. for submitting it!!!!

Birthday Bones

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2014
Made these for the first time a month ago and my two dogs love them. Made them just this morning again and used the pizza slicer to cut them, what a great idea. I did as one reviewer suggested and baked them for less than 20 minutes. I baked them for 17 minutes and they turned out perfect. Puppies could smell them baking and eagerly awaited the new batch of them. This is a great recipe, easy to make and makes you feel good that you are giving your dogs a healthy treat. Thank you so very much for submitting this recipe.

Chuck Wagon Hash

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2014
Made this last night and it was great. I added diced cooked potatoes to it because we had leftovers. Because of the potatoes, I added another can of soup. My hubby asked for seconds and that is saying a lot. The spices are just perfect for the recipe. Will make this a go to recipe when I want something simple and tasty. Thanks

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2014
I tried these last night. The basic recipe is great!!!! I did however change the cooking methods per other viewers. I baled them at 425 for 25 minutes per side, and did so on a broiler pan lined with a rack. When done, I dipped them in the sauce mix, then put them on a cookie sheet and broiled them on low for 3 minutes per side. These turned out FANTASTIC!!!!! My hubby was reluctant for me to try wings that were not deep fried, but he has changed his mind!!! The wings were just crispy and juicy...and oh so tasty...Thanks to all those who tried this recipe before me and tweaked it to make it perfect!!!!!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
WOW!!!! Had some leftover bananas, read this recipe and the reviews. Glad I did!!!! Used applesauce instead of oil, vanilla yoghurt instead of buttermilk, 1 tsp of cinnamon and did the brown/white sugar mix. Also lightly sprinkled the loaf pan with sugar as another reader suggests to give it texture. Great ideas!!!!! The bread turned out soooo very moist and tasty. There won't be any to freeze!!! Thanks all who contributed!!!

Turkey Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
I love it!!!! I didn't have Dijon mustard so used honey mustard instead. This recipe is quick to make and tastes great!!!! As the reviewer suggests, you can use it after ten minutes, but allowing the flavours to marry is certainly worthwhile.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
Just made two batches of these cookies. One using water and the other using orange juice. What a great suggestion ANIA520!!!! Thank you!!! I will make these wonderful cookies using the oj from now on. They are just as the title suggests, big, soft, ginger cookies. I would however add WONDERFUL to that description. I just used a small melon ball scoop and dropped on parchment paper lined cookie sheets. Will make two more batches of these cookies for our next pot luck!!!!

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2013
FANTASTIC!!!!! I am not a sausage fan, was somewhat reluctant to try but did. Wow!!! Did not even have to drain the sausage, not even a tsp of fat comes off the sausage. Used hot Italian sausage, with Hunts spicy and zesty sauce. Sauce not watery at all. Followed the directions and wow!!! We loved it. So easy to make, one pot does it all!!!! Great for pot lucks as well, just double up on the ingredients!!!!

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
Just tried this recipe. Fantastic!!!! Used the oven instead of the grill. Added an extra onion because we are onion lovers. Motherteresa's comments were spot on. We used hot Italian sausage and substituted carrots for green beans. Also added 1 tsp garlic powder. Searing the sausage in worchestershire sauce was a great idea. Thank you, for all those who made suggestions. This will be a favourite from now on.

Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2013
I did as the reviewers suggested and added more reserved liquid. It was wonderful. Simple and easy to make. Definitely a keeper. I have made this three times already and love it. Question??? What else can I use hummus for. I have been using it with veggies but would like to use it more. What are your suggestions. Thanks
