Scott's Savory BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2013
I took some advice from other reviewers when I made this sauce. First of all, I cut the entire recipe into 1/4. Substituted 5oz. can of tomato paste + 3T Ketchup for the bottle (or 1/4 bottle for mine) of ketchup. I sauteed finely-chopped onion (1/2 small) and garlic (1 small head) in olive oil and then added ingredients to sauce pan, heating through, but not to boiling. I also added 1/4-1/3C water at the end to cut the vinegar. Excellent sauce! used it on a pork shoulder I had smoked all day at 200ยบ. Wonderful meal!

Excellent! Added broccoli florets. Diced, rather than sliced, red bell pepper. Used 1/2 Cheez-Its and 1/2 seasoned breadcrumbs. Also added garlic. Would be great with diced ham or sausage.

Tortellini Pesto Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
Substituted 1 lg red pepper (coarse chopped), reduced broccoli & carrot by 1/4. Omitted olives (wife hates them), split the quantity of pesto between basil pesto and sundried tomato pesto, added cubed proccuito. Absolutely the best pasta salad I have ever tasted!

Sweet Polish Sausage

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2006
What a great flavor the brown sugar/worcheshire sauce combine to make! Very easy. It has become a semi-weekly staple in our house. Serve as a main course or add to your favorite veggie/cheese casserole! Leftovers (if there is any) great on a bun.

Original Homemade Italian Beef

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2006
Great flavor! Used 1/2 the peppers and 1/2 the juice as the wife can't eat it real spicy. Easy and delicious. Freezes well for leftovers that seem to be better than the original. On Dutch crunch w/ provolone.

Broccoflower® Mash with Horseradish

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
My wife can't get enough of this recipe. If you have trouble finding Broccoflower, use 1/2 broccoli and 1/2 cauliflower for the identical flavor! Add some wasabi for a little kick.

Aunt Dot's Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2004
Great recipe. Agree with others that the salt is too much. Here's how I decided to make it. Substitute ground buffalo (bison) for the turkey. Eliminate salt alltogether (diners can add to taste). Reduce garlic salt to 2 tsp and add 1 tsp minced garlic. I also added a diced shallot.

Very good and very hearty! I would reduce the anchovies by 1/4 but otherwise it is great! Even better the next day!

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
I have never really been a fan of pork chops. My wife likes them so I find myself cooking them every once in awhile. This recipe changed my mind! Very moist and flavorful. I added sauteed garlic, onions and mushrooms. I did not add water at all. I seasoned the chops with Prudhommes Pork & Veal magic before searing them in the pan w onions, garlic and mushrooms. Very tasty. My wife loved them. Served with baked potato & grean beans/mushrooms.

Easy, Cheesy Zucchini Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
As is, this recipe seemed like it would be a little bland. I added chopped onions and yellow bell peppers. I also added garlic salt and a little beef bullion. It was AWESOME!
