Easy Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
a great healthy snack. I made my own applesauce and swapped it for all the oil and they turned out so moist.

Basic Quiche by Shelly

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
I followed the suggestion of using 3 eggs and a cup and a half of cream to create more room for veggies and I think that worked very well. Next time I may increase the egg to cream ratio as I found it a little soft for my taste. The cook time worked perfectly for me.

Tasty, but too oily.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
Very easy, but a little too 'basic' tasting.

Cheddar Pear Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
This was AMAZING! I added some cloves by accident which I think made it even better. Next time I'll use more cheddar, or sharper cheddar.

Summer Salad with Cumin-Crusted Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
This was SO amazingly good. I only omitted the cilantro (because I don't like it) and replaced it with fresh chives. I had to bake the fish because it was pre-frozen, and next time I'll definitely buy fresh and pan fry it.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
It was pretty good. My first time trying tilapia. I found it a bit bland. Next time I'll use more garlic and some different, fresh herbs and less oil (I used olive oil instead of butter).

This was good. A simple, yummy sidedish. You can use any kind of potato really.

Soft Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
These were soooo good but soooo rich and filling. I added a chocolate rosette to the center of each. They were a hit for sure. My step-grandmother said I could make money off of them!

Orange Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly except I added about 2 tbsp of cocoa powder (because we all know how good friends orange and chocolate are). They tasted pretty yummy, but the texture was all wrong! They were like little cakes. I like my cookies chewy and a little crisp. These were neither, fluffy and puffy. I won't make these again. Ever. Unless I need a good cake recipe.

Jalapeno Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
Followed the recipe exactly except used boneless skinless chicken breasts. The sauce never thickened and was WAY too sour. My jalapenos must have been very mild because we culdn't taste them. I added cayenne to kick it up a little. I found the cinnamon very dominant. I won't make this one again.

Naan

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
This was fantastic. I don't have a grill so I did them in a frying pan, thus a little oiler than I would have liked, but SO delicious and the texture was perfect. Just enough garlic too. I followed the recipe exactly.

Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I felt like this was over-spiced and didn't allow much of the taste of the ingredients to come through. It needs some tweaking I think.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
These are like the beautiful love child of Grandma's cookies and hard toffee. They're delish, but are hard by the next day. I used WAY less choc. chips than what was called for. My boyfriend gave them a 10 out of 9! ?

Chile Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
This was really really good. Got rave reviews from my boyfriend and a friend. I used curry powder instead of cumin and dried coriander instead of cilantro (not a fan). I also added some brown sugar. I used the rub on shnitzel style pork but I'll definitely use it on a tenderloin next time. YUM!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

These were good. I added a lot more of the cinnamon, nutmeg type spices. I found they were harder than I wanted them. I like chewy cookies.

Bacon-y Bok Choy

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
It was ok, if a little bland. I'm not sure what I'd add, but it definitely needed more kick. A good way to get your greens though.

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
this was really good. I used half and half instead of heavy, which worked out fine. I'd use less Parmesan next time, I found it a little dominating. I love finding ways to use fresh herbs.
