Cabbage Rolls II

This recipe was great. I did take the advice of some others that commented here, and I tripled the sauce. My cabbage leaves were huge, so it didn't make 12, but it did make 6 large rolls, and that was plenty for us. I added the 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder, added more onion, cut the pepper in half, and I chopped the remaining cabbage up and put it in the bottom since the BF loves cabbage. Also, instead of boiling the cabbage (I was afraid that would make the leaves too soggy)I followed the advice given here and just put it in the microwave for 4 minutes and the leaves were super easy to peel off, and didn't get soggy at all after being in the crockpot.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

We loved this! It was so tender and juicy. My BF actually put this on while I was at work, and when I came home, it had the house smelling delicious! The only thing we would change is adding more potatoes and veggies....it just didn't seem to be enough because though there was a lot of meat left, there wasn't any potatoes or carrots. Otherwise, awesome recipe!

Monterey Spaghetti

I used Mini Farfalle instead of spaghetti (only because I didn't have any spaghetti) and I also used fresh spinach (which next time I will chop because I wasn't thinking and just threw it in there whole). I honestly didn't measure the Monterey cheese, because I bought it in a block since I couldn't find it in a bag, but I didn't use but maybe half it called for and it came out great. I also used salt and pepper to taste, a pinch of basil and oregano. When I tasted the sauce right out of the pot, it tasted super salty, but once I cooked the noodles and mixed them in at the end, it no longer tasted salty at all. I thought it was pretty good, and the BF really liked it as well. Definitely a keeper.

Meat-Lover's Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

The BF didn't like it all that much, but only because I used 90% lean meat, and he hates it. lol I, personally, really liked it and will make it again! I did tweak a few things, however. I didn't use the olive oil at all. I used brown sugar sausage, and cooked the beef and sausage together, then added the onions and 2 cloves of minced garlic. I also used brown sugar instead of white (which I also doubled), and subbed one of the diced tomatoes for a can of fire roasted tomatoes, and I threw a bay leaf in there as well. We prefer a sweeter sauce, and next time I would actually probably add a little more brown sugar, or maybe I will try it with white. But overall, a very good sauce that can easily be tweaked to fit anyone's preferences!

Creamy Slow Cooker Potato Soup

The BF and I loved it! It made only enough for two bowls each, and we wished I had doubled the recipe because I bet it would have tasted even more awesome tomorrow. This is definitely a keeper. I found, also, that only 1 cup of chicken stock didn't look or seem like enough, so I used 2 cups, and I used crumbled bacon instead of ham, only because that's what I had on hand. We also found that it needed a touch more salt and pepper, but other than that, it was YUMMY! Thanks for the recipe!

Cheesy Broccoli and Vegetable Soup

Turned out very, very good. However, 1/4 cup of butter wasn't enough to stir 1/2 cup flour until creamy. I wound up with dry yellow chunks and had to add the milk and then stir until my arm almost fell off to get it thicken. Other than that, it was good. I used fresh veggies because whenever I buy frozen broccoli and/or cauliflower, I always wind up getting all stalks (which I hate). I also added a tiny smidgen of salt, and a pinch of white pepper.

Slow Cooker Pizza

It honestly didn't taste like pizza to me....it tasted more like goulash but we still liked it. I did fry the pepperoni first and then let it drain on napkins and it didn't turn out greasy at all; which the BF loved because he didn't have any heartburn.

Cheesy Italian Tortellini

It turned out very good. Surprisingly, I didn't really taste the sausage at all, so next time I might add more. It seemed like it would be a little bland, so I did use Prego sauce instead of marinara sauce, and I also added some spices to it. Also, I used fresh parmesan cheese instead of Cheddar. Very good base recipe that you can tweak to fit your own personal preferences.

Slow Cooker Casserole

Turned out really good! The only thing I changed was I used canned veggies instead of frozen since that's what I had. Also, my noodles got a little soggy, but that was my fault. I put them in, and then my BF wound up coming home late from work, so they were in the cooker a little longer than they needed to be even though I turned it off. I was surprised though, because I was worried that using all 3 packets of the ramen seasoning would make it too salty, but it didn't. Thanks for the recipe! Definitely one I will make again.

It's Chili by George!!

My BF made this for me the other day. He was going to follow it exactly, but I was the one who asked him not to put 1/4 cup of chili powder in it because it seemed like way too much for my taste, and I was right. He only used like 2 tbsp. I believe, and it was more than enough for us. Two cans of beans wasn't enough, so he added two more cans and it still came out a little watery, so next time we will cut back on the tomato juice some. Otherwise, we really liked it. Thanks.

Sour Cream Pork Chops

My BF made this for me last night with scalloped potatoes and green beans. He made it exactly as it said to; other than the chicken bouillon because he couldn't find it, so he used beef bouillon instead. Despite that, it turned out really good and we liked it. The chops were so tender and good! Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

My BF made this while I was at work. He didn't cube the chicken, which was okay....the taste came out wonderful! We put it over egg noodles, and the chicken was so tender, that I shredded mine and then mixed it altogether. Awesome recipe! Thanks, this is definitely one we will be making again!

Slow Cooker Beef Pot Roast

It turned out good, but like some others, I didn't really taste the spices at all (me having to use salt and pepper after the meal is cooked....rare for me!); thus why I gave it three stars instead of 4 or 5. We followed the recipe almost to a T...we omitted the mushrooms out of personal preference, and added some sliced potatoes, because having a roast without slow cooked potatoes just didn't seem right. But thank you for the recipe anyways!

Wonderful Wake-up Casserole

For being so simple, it turned out really good! My BF said it was a 5 stars because he loved it! He had it for supper last night, lunch and supper today as well (being as how it made a lot) and he wasn't complaining! lol The only change I think I might make to it next time is to add some veggies, like green or sweet peppers, onions, etc. Thanks for the recipe!
