Chocolate Rum Balls I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2012
Meh. I just don't get the appeal. They came out kind of boring. Pretty much like you'd expect lousy boxed cookies soaked in booze and mixed with nuts to taste. A little flat, the flavor needed something besides sweet to give it some appeal.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2012
I followed the recipe to the letter but the flavor lacked depth and complexity. I'm still looking for that amazing banana bread recipe.

Shrimp Scampi V

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
Good but not great. We found that it needed salt, perhaps the chef uses salted butter which we do not? Also required more garlic to really make the flavors pop!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
It was tender, but my family really didn't care much for the wine. It made an otherwise amazing roast kind of gross tasting...

Quick and easy. Not bad with Lemon-Lime flavor on a Graham cracker crust. A fun summer treat!

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
Good, but I know it could be much better. Next time I'm going with red wine and fresh mushrooms.

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
Doubled this recipe, used half graham crackers and half gingersnaps and pressed into a 9x13 where it made a solid 3/4 inch crust. Will certainly use again as it got several compliments from potluck guests and my family. Thanks!

Million Dollar Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
Brought this to a potluck in a 9x13 and it got RAVE reviews. The little bit that was left over was quickly claimed by the hostess as I got ready to leave. Personally, I thought it was good but not amazing. I don't feel the oranges added much so I'm still looking for my own perfect "million dollar" pie.

Cornbread Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
If you're a fan of creamed corn but wish it had more body and lots of whole kernels in it or if you love the little scoop of corn stuff on your plate at Chi-Chi's but wish it wasn't as sweet and a little moister, this recipe is for you!! Unfortunately, no one in my family falls into either of those categories, so I'll be removing this recipe from my box.

Spicy Orange Teriyaki Marinade

Excellent. My children ask for chicken made with this at least once a month!

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
Very nice! I did have to tweak the ratios of sweet and sour to come up with a flavor that suited my family's tastes, but it's very good and now I feel more confident about cooking in when we want Chinese!

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
I loved these, very tasty. My 13 year old (who recently became a huge fan of the restaurant version) says they aren't as light and fluffy as the others, but he still likes them. I must second (or...whatever number we're up to) the idea of brushing with garlic butter before baking as well as after. I made two batches and the batch with the butter baked in was much better IMO. Thanks for sharing.

Fun and not too much work. I'll probably make these again if my kids need an extra boost of sugar.

Linzer Tarts

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
Unless you grind the almonds to dust you'll end up with a most indelicate, uncookie-like mess, as I did. Not worth the time and trouble for me.

Easy but not very impressive. A little too bland for us.

Apple Crisp II

Very good, especially with Granny Smiths. I omitted the water but I won't next time, it was a bit dry without it. This will be my new standard recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Tagine

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
Tasty. Not my usual style but I needed a recipe without tomatoes so I made this and just omitted the tomato paste. Made it later with the tomato paste and couldn't tell the difference. I might play a bit more with the spices if I make it again but overall it's good!

Excellent! Used fresh chopped garlic and the kids raved about it!! Only problem is that now they won't put up with me buying the bottled sauce anymore...
