About this Cook
Not quite sure what I like better - cooking/baking or eating. I love trying new things in the kitchen and love getting my kids involved in "creative cooking". During the week I usually try quick meals, but love the big home cooked meals on the weekends when I do have the time to "slave" over a hot stove. I am now finding I have a passion for baking and enjoy learning as much as I can, from baking to decorating cakes.
My favorite things to cook
Seafood - I love to cook and eat as well!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving. I have been hosting Thanksgiving at my house for years now and it is my most favorite time of the year. I get to cook for my entire family. We have our traditional recipes as well as finding new dishes to add and experiment with as well.
My cooking triumphs
I enjoy cooking and baking, but can't yet think of anything I would list as a triumph so far. Maybe that will change one day.
My cooking tragedies
Pancake Porkchops. HAHAHA, I remember when I first moved out and attempted cooking a recipe involving bisquick and pork chops. I have no clue what happened to the coating, but my pork chops were impregnated in huge pillowy pancakes. I still laugh about that to this day.

World's Best Lasagna
Truly is the best lasagna that I have ever tried. I followed this recipe, however added a bit more water to my sauce because I did simmer it longer than the recipe called for. I also used unboiled lasagna noodles. I didn't have fennel seeds on hand, so omitted them and it still turned out perfect. It is a time consuming recipe, however it is so worth it. Thanks so much for such a terrific recipe!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
This was great - Instead of making a few loaves, I made one loaf and pumpkin muffins with the rest of the mix. The loaf and muffins did not last long in my house. I did bake the muffins less time than the loaf. Each came out moist and delicious. Thanks for a terrific pumpkin bread recipe!
