About this Cook
I have a BS in nutrition, newlywed, and I like to experiment in the kitchen and feel confident following and editing recipes. I don't have much in my arsenal as of yet, but I love collecting recipes and making them my own!
My favorite things to cook
veggie stir fry with rice pan fried french fries Harvard beets super oatmeal! lemon chicken cookies! Neeman-Marcus cookies, oatmeal apple-raisin, date pinwheel and more to come.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom did most of the cooking in my Italian/Euro/Polish home growing up. Nothing too gourmet, but always good. Also, a dish was never served the same way twice. i don't think she ever paid attention to directions and is a master at using ALL of the leftovers. I hope to emulate her kitchen flair. :D
My cooking triumphs
Making anything that my hubby will willingly try and is surprised to find he likes it. >He is ridiculously picky, but improving daily ;)

Amazing Banana Sorbet
Kinda plain. In my version, i made the sugar syrup with brown sugar, cinnamon, cocoa powder and vanilla extract> blended in 3 bananas and froze it. YUMMY! kinda like a frozen, virgin bananas foster.

Black Bean Soup III
This recipe makes enough for two servings if supplemented with chips or tortillas. I changed mine a lot, but this served well as inspiration. instead of water, i added the bean juice and salsa into the blender. Also, I used garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. after blending it all, i put it in a small sauce pot and let it boil a little. i dont know why it says to dump the salsa guts, thats the good part! also, add sour cream and shredded cheese when serving hot and viola! also, im thinking about simmering it for a while next time so it is thicker and can be used for a bean dip. Maybe adding some ground turkey? or refried beans? Thanks for the idea!
