Chaat - Dahi Batata Puri

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Made this not really knowing what it was supposed to turn out like or taste like. It ended up being very delicious! I will definitely make it again next time I have a party or guests over. It was very time consuming but in the end was worth it.

Rapini-Walnut Macaroni

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
Very delicious. My boyfriend usually remarks to these kinds of dishes saying, "I don't like green stuff in my pasta" but this time he said, "I like this!" aka phenomenal. The flavors complimented each other really well and it made great left overs.

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
This recipe is awesome. It is a perfect base to make any "flavored" scalloped potatoes you could possible dream of. Just add what ever spice(s) you wish to either the milk or the layers and you will never be disappointed. I have done a garlic/onion version, a chive/parsley/basil version and a cheesy pepper version. You can make it how you want and it turns out every time! Thank you for sharing!

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
This salad is quick and simple but has big taste! Cut the sugar in half and feel free to sub red wine vinegar for the white wine vinegar. I have even substituted cider vinegar with out regrets! Easy, summery and delicious!

A Simply Perfect Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
This last year we had Thanksgiving at our house for the first time. It was our first time cooking a turkey and this recipe made us look like pro's! I followed the advice of others (rub butter under the skin and wrap the wings with foil) and the recipes instructions to a T. It was perfect! Everyone asked what recipe we used! Thank you so much for this recipe Syd!

Feta Cheese Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
YUM! Made these for thanksgiving and couldn't have been happier. I left the skins on my baby red potatoes (thats what I had) added a little extra garlic and sprinkled chives on top at the end. Got lots of compliments! Loved how the feta complimented the potatoes! Ill make it again next year that is for sure!

Pumpkin Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
Yum! I made this because I love pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread. I was fearful that it would be just like one or the other but it wasn't! It was truly it's own dish. I served it as a side to dinner and as a treat with coffee and tea. Great! Thank you for sharing!

Waldorf Salad II

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
I doubled the ingredients and made this recipe for a baby shower and received lots of compliments. I added a pint of blueberries and substituted dried cranberries for the raisins. I made some little adjustments to the salt and sugar to my preference which I am sure everyone does. It was so good! Thank you for sharing!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
This was an awesome recipe. I made it a smidge healthier by subing applesauce for half of the oil and egg beaters for the eggs. It was so good. I brought it to work and it was gone in no time. Can't wait to make it again!

Butternut Squash Pizzas with Rosemary

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
I love butternut squash and loved the idea of making pizza with it. In an attempt to make it a little healthier I really skimped on the olive oil. Don't do that. It needs it. Mine was a little dry. I had a bit or two of my boyfriends (with the appropriate amount of olive oil) and it was perfect! Also we cooked the other half of the squash as directed for the pizza and it was delicious all on its own!

Asparagus Cashew Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
Amazing dish. Couple tips I learned while making this dish: less butter goes unnoticed, brown the rice first the spaghetti browns really fast and the onions/garlic don't take long either, broil then asparagus a little first. This dish was so good and the flavors complimented each other so nicely!! Definitely makes a great dish to pass!

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
This is a great recipe! I used sweet potatoes and yams for the 4 1/2 cups. The taste was great and it wasn't too sweet. I did make a double batch for the topping and used the evaporated milk instead. I highly recommend this for thanksgiving or any large meal you plan on making! Delicious!

Kumquat Salad

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
A great twist on a salad. Be sure to slice the kumquats small otherwise you might get a big surprise in a few of your bites. Didn't have celery and didn't miss it. Used feta not asiago and it was still great! Thanks for sharing!

Apple Avocado Salad with Tangerine Dressing

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
The tangerine dressing was a refreshing change from the normal vinegar/lemon/oil combos I come across. As with all salads that ask for fresh red onion it had a "bit" here and there but Ill definitely make it again! I'm not a huge fan of blue cheese and so I used feta and thought it tasted great.
