Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I used a 32 oz carton of chicken broth (quite a bit less than the recipe calls for). However, when it came time to add the broccoli and broth, I only poured enough broth to cover the broccoli. I saved the remaining broth to mix with the cornstarch instead of using water. I used just a bit less cornstarch and added black pepper as well. It turned out fantastic and tasted even better the next day! Everyone here loved it. :)

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
I love to cook, but I love easy days when I can throw something in my slow cooker. I followed the recipe at first, but after 3 1/2 hours on high, I took the chicken out, shredded it up, seasoned it with garlic powder, pepper, and a dash of paprika. I put it back in the sauce in the crock pot and added some extra barbecue sauce that I had. It turned out great! It was served with corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. Tomorrow's lunch will be the "barbecue chicken" on buns. Yum! :)

Lasagna Toss

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
This was a very simple recipe and tasted great. I mixed italian seasoning and parmesan cheese in with the cottage cheese. Next time I will also add in crushed red pepper to the meat for a little added kick.

Lazy Golumbkis

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
I give it 5 stars, although I did tweak it a little bit. Instead of 28oz of tomato sauce, I used 1/2 tomato soup and 1/2 tomato sauce. I also chopped the cabbage into chunkier pieces, because my family loves cabbage and shredding it would've shrunk it down too much. I cooked it on high for 3 1/2 hours to save time. The taste was so close to my mom's cabbage casserole recipe that she makes in the oven, but with way less work! My boyfriend, 6 year old son and I all loved it. I added a sprinkle of worcestershire sauce along with tabasco when I ate my serving. My boyfriend added worc. sauce to his as well. Great time saver, thank you! :)

Mexican Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
This was a hit in my household! My son even wanted it the next day for breakfast. I did add a bit of taco seasoning along with 1/4 cup salsa and 1/4 cup shredded cheese to the cream cheese/sour cream mixture before spreading it on the crust. After cooking the taco meat (which I cooked with 1/2 an onion), I added in the black olives along with a bit of cheese to bind it all together. I put it over the cream cheese layer, topped with more cheese and baked at 350 for 15 minutes. I left off the lettuce and tomato for my family to add as they wanted it. Yummy recipe! Thanks!

Bacon Wrapped Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
This was fantastic and simple! I let my shrimp sit in the the fridge in hickory honey bbq sauce for an hour. I had thick sliced hickory smoked bacon that I microwaved on a plate, covered with a paper towel for 5 minutes. Once the bacon cooled, I wrapped the shrimp, added the toothpicks, and put it back into the sauce and added more sauce and let sit in the fridge another 30 minutes. Once ready, I baked it for 6 minutes on each side and sprinkled (dry) bbq seasoning on it. Great recipe and easy to add to or switch around. Thanks!

Patsy's Best Barbeque Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
I cut the recipe in half for my family and used my food chopper to pulse all the veggies, which saved time. I subbed red bell pepper for the green (it is what I had on hand). Being pressed for time, I cooked it on high for 4 hours and it was falling apart and was very easy to shred. My family devoured it! This is a keeper, thank you! :)

Cola Beans

My son would give this 5 stars, he loved it! While it was easy to make and good, it still tasted like it came from the can in my opinion.

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
I cut the recipe in half for my small family. This was very quick and easy to make! My boyfriend who seldom eats chocolate even gave it a "10". My almost 7 year old son loved it and thought it looked like chocolate worms and said it was cool. :) I liked it too. Next time I think I will try adding in a few chopped pecans.

Italian Chicken Sausage Stuffed Portabellas

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
These were really good! And they were very simple to make. I used turkey italian sausage, because the Al Fresco brand wasn't available where I live, but they were yummy. Next time though, I will add more of the cream cheese spread with onion and chives into it.

Cornbread Stuffing with al fresco® Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
I am not a fan of fruit and meat together in a recipe. However, I was surprised... I thought I wouldn't like this at all, but it really wasn't that bad. I would go easier on the seasoning next time and possibly add less fruit, more meat, but that is my preference. My son wasn't too keen on it, but he did at least give it a try.

Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage Caesar Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
Garlic chicken sausage isn't available in the small area where I live, so I improvised and used sweet italian turkey sausage. I also used a chopped roma tomato instead of the cherry tomatoes. We loved it! My son devoured it. I hope next time to find the garlic chicken sausage, because I'm sure it would be fantastic! :) I did use extra caesar dressing as well, because we don't like our salads to be dry.

This was good. I used small cubes of shredded Sharp cheddar and left the skins on the potatoes. I also chopped the egg up and mixed it in.

For us, the amount of dill was overpowering. I will use much less if I make it again. Also, I will use less sugar.

Tuna Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
This was good, but needed additions. I doubled the amount of tuna, added in chunks of sharp cheddar, and a bit of ranch dressing. Otherwise, it would've been too dry.

Guac and Roll

This was an unusual combinaton. I had to add in a lot of salsa for my taste. The tuna threw me off. It did taste better the next day. My 7 year old liked it though.
