Cheesy Chicken and Yellow Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
This was fantastic!! So simple and yet so flavorful. All 3 of us loved it at my house. My 8 year old kept saying, "Mom, this is one of the best recipes ever!" :) I used more chicken than what it called for and extra cheese. Of course, my boyfriend and I added Sriracha, but it was great even as is.

Greek-Seasoned T-Bone Steaks with Cucumber and Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2013
We rubbed the steaks lightly with olive oil in addition to the Greek seasoning. I think they could've used a bit more flavor, or sat for a while before grilling to soak up the flavor. The salad was refreshing and I did drizzle it with Italian dressing.

Beef Breakfast Burrito

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
Everyone in my household enjoyed these. The recipe left off the sour cream for the lime-cilantro cream, but after checking around, I found it was suppose to be 1/2 cup sour cream mixed with the cilantro and lime juice. I doubled the recipe and used extra cheese (we love cheese). This would be really good with potatoes added in as well. :)

JELL-O Patriotic Mini Fruit Tarts

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
I simplified this recipe by using pre-made mini graham cracker crusts. Raspberries weren't available at my store, so I substituted sliced strawberries. They turned out beautiful! They were very quick and easy to make.

HERDEZ® Roasted Pasilla Pepper Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2013
This was a keeper for us! We ate it one night and finished the leftovers the following night. I kept everything as is, except I did use 2 pounds of ground beef and 1.5 jars of the sauce. Very easy and flavorful, yum! :)

Detroit Hot Honey Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2013
I opted to make these in the oven using a baking sheet covered with foil and lightly sprayed with cooking spray. I baked them for 30 minutes at 375 degrees (with honey drizzled over them), then I took them out, flipped them over and drizzled more honey, and baked them for another 30 minutes. After that I tossed them in the hot sauce/honey/butter mixture and baked them for another 5 minutes. Then I poured the remaining sauce over them. They were great! Next time I'll use a spicier hot sauce. I would like to try them with barbecue sauce in place of the hot sauce. Yum!

Mexican Bean and Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2013
I followed the recipe exactly and it tasted so bland and dry. So I added in extra cumin, extra lime juice, garlic powder, chili powder, lemon pepper, and even some italian dressing. After those additions, we enjoyed it much more and it was edible.

Hamburger Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2013
I subbed Johnsonville Italian Sausage (casings removed - 19oz package) in place of the ground beef. I also used 6 eggs instead and increased the milk to half a cup. It was very tasty! My family really enjoyed it. It would be great with breakfast sausage too.

Bowties with Italian Sausage in a Cream Basil Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
This was excellent! It tasted even better the next day, of course. I used heavy cream, since that's all I had on hand and extra cheese (because we looooove cheese). This was oh so good! :D

This is delicious! I had to substitute seasoning in place of the Beau Monde, but it turned out great! We tried it with baby carrots as well as crackers. My almost 8 year old son really loved it too! :)

Special Green Bean Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
I was leary of the relish, but I followed the recipe accordingly. I'm not sure I understand the reason for baking this dish. After baking it as directed, it never browned. When we ate it, it reminded me of a bean salad but it was too tart for us. It had a very good taste, just too much vinegar. If I make this again, I will cut back on the amount of vinegar and sugar too. Instead of baking it, I will refrigerate it and let it sit for a few hours until chilled before I serve it, or wait until the next day. :)

Spicy Spanish Sausage Supper

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2013
We all liked this. I wasn't sure if I would like the green olives in it, as I normally don't use them in cooking. I was going to use black olives instead but decided to give the green a try - and it was great! I did cut my sausage into quarters and fried it with the bell pepper, celery and onions. My boyfriend said he would like me to make it with shrimp added in next time. :)

Kate's Black-Eyed Pea Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
We enjoyed this so much! I've made different variations of black-eyed pea salad, but this is my fave now! The only thing I did differently was add a red bell pepper instead of a green bell pepper and I added garlic powder as well. Yum!

White Chip Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
These were very good, but for some reason they reminded me more of a sugar cookie than anything else. Next time I will add more orange into it and perhaps a dash of vanilla extract as well. Still very tasty though! :)

These were delicious. It was a rare occasion for me to make cookies from scratch, and oh my, everyone loved them! I didn't make them jumbo, just regular size and baked them for 11 minutes at 350 degrees. MMMM!!!
