Spaghetti with Broccoli Florets and Traditional Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2014
This recipe was so simple and I thought my meat eating fiancé wouldn't be satisfied with a meatless recipe. I was wrong! He had seconds and my son loved it as well! I served it with garlic breadsticks and it went over very well.

Wavy Lasagna with Italian Sausage and Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2014
It was delicious! I didn't cook the noodles, but followed the rest of the recipe as it was written. Since my noodles were uncooked, I made sure they were covered with the meat sauce. I baked it for 25 minutes (instead of 20) with the foil. Then I uncovered it and baked it for 15 minutes (instead of covering it and baking for 10). It turned out perfect and not having to cook the noodles beforehand was a time saver! I'll make it again, most definitely!!

Amazing Muffin Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2014
These were ahhhh-mazing! The only thing I did different was use sharp cheddar and I used green bell pepper because I had it on hand. My family loved this!

I subbed Johnsonville Italian Sausage. This was quick and easy. I will add onion if I make it again. :)

Ashley and Whitney's Popcorn and Pretzel Sweet Snack Mix

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
I really liked this, but next time I will use about half the chocolate it calls for. I didn't use all the chocolate this time around and it was still a bit too sweet for mine and my family's tastebuds. My next attempt I will try to omit the popcorn and sub rice chex in instead. I also used way less cinnamon, as I didn't want it to overpower the mix. I kept the mix stored in the fridge after I made it which to me kept it fresher longer.

Karen's Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
I cannot give 5 stars because I made changes to the cookies. I used less flour (2 cups total) and more sugar (1 cup total). I used half of the vanilla it called for and used 1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk. With these alterations, the cookies turned out great! I did bake them twice as long as called for (as some ovens vary). My mom and I made an icing consisting of powdered sugar, butter, milk, and a bit of vanilla and finished the iced cookies off with sprinkles. The parchment paper helped for an easier clean-up.

Pork Carnitas with Cilantro Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2014
My whole family enjoyed these! I used a pork tenderloin because my store didn't have pork shoulder on hand. I added a bit of finely diced fresh jalapeno, minced garlic, sliced green onion and a splash of lime juice to the cilantro tomatillo sauce. What a great flavor combination with the meat and salsa! This recipe is a keeper!

Sweet and Spicy Salmon with Grapefruit Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2014
I don't usually make fish or any kind of "fruit" salsa. I followed the recipe but did change one thing by subbing mandarin oranges for the grapefruit. I was surprised - my 8 year old son ate it so quickly and didn't say it was too spicy (he has very low tolerance to heat). He loved it! The flavors come together perfectly and it looked awesome as well. I'd make it again.

Italian Sausage Market Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
It definitely needed to be baked longer than the recipe stated. I baked mine over 20 minutes longer. It's different from traditional meatloaf recipes when you want to change things up a bit. My guys enjoyed it and I'm happy if they are! :)

Johnsonville® One-Pan Italian

I was running behind and looking for a quick meal. With only 4 ingredients (one was water), it came together fast and effortlessly! That's my kind of meal! :)

Pizza Pasta by Johnsonville®

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2013
My household approved of it!! Yum! I added onions to it. Next time I will probably add in some pepperoni and perhaps a bit more pizza sauce. The flavors came together so well. We served it with garlic bread and it was so quiet during dinner - they were too busy eating! :)

Bison Fajitas with Guacamole Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
This was so delicious!! I used bison skirt steak and grilled it instead, then added it to the cooked veggies. The guacamole salad went so well with the fajitas. Of course, we added cheese - we love cheese!!

Asian Noodle Bowl

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
Peanut sauce was not available in my small town. I had to make some using a recipe from this site. My boyfriend had 2 huge servings (I'm guessing he enjoyed it. LOL) My son gobbled his down as well. I on the other hand, didn't care for it. The bison was delicious though!! I think I had trouble accepting the peanut sauce (purchased may have been tastier). Once I added sriracha (love that stuff) and even a bit of sweet and sour *gasp*, then I enjoyed it more. I personally would've enjoyed the dish more minus the peanut sauce, but I was the minority. Majority rules and my guys really liked it! :) For my first bison tasting experience, I will definitely be cooking with it again!

Three Bean Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
I couldn't find the Goya Salad & Vegetable Seasoning, so I subbed a packet of Italian dressing mix instead. I also added a little extra Italian dressing once it sat for a while. It was a refreshing recipe. It would be fun to try mixing and matching other kinds of beans in as well.

Black Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
The longer this sits, the better the taste comes together. My boyfriend really enjoyed it with tortilla chips. I added in diced jalapenos instead of the slices and wish I would've added more. Really good though!

Cheesy Chicken and Yellow Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
This was fantastic!! So simple and yet so flavorful. All 3 of us loved it at my house. My 8 year old kept saying, "Mom, this is one of the best recipes ever!" :) I used more chicken than what it called for and extra cheese. Of course, my boyfriend and I added Sriracha, but it was great even as is.

Greek-Seasoned T-Bone Steaks with Cucumber and Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2013
We rubbed the steaks lightly with olive oil in addition to the Greek seasoning. I think they could've used a bit more flavor, or sat for a while before grilling to soak up the flavor. The salad was refreshing and I did drizzle it with Italian dressing.

Beef Breakfast Burrito

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
Everyone in my household enjoyed these. The recipe left off the sour cream for the lime-cilantro cream, but after checking around, I found it was suppose to be 1/2 cup sour cream mixed with the cilantro and lime juice. I doubled the recipe and used extra cheese (we love cheese). This would be really good with potatoes added in as well. :)

JELL-O Patriotic Mini Fruit Tarts

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
I simplified this recipe by using pre-made mini graham cracker crusts. Raspberries weren't available at my store, so I substituted sliced strawberries. They turned out beautiful! They were very quick and easy to make.

HERDEZ® Roasted Pasilla Pepper Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2013
This was a keeper for us! We ate it one night and finished the leftovers the following night. I kept everything as is, except I did use 2 pounds of ground beef and 1.5 jars of the sauce. Very easy and flavorful, yum! :)
