I was born in Cuba but raised in NJ since the age of 4. I grew up speaking spanish and eating cuban food at home. I am married to a german/irish/american and have a 10 year old son. I am lucky that they both love my cooking and are open to trying anything new. I own my own business, a flower shop, for 16 years now. Being a florist and surrounded by beautiful flowers & colors all day I can appreciate not only food that taste delicious, but that looks delicious too. I once served yams that were hard like a rock.
