Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
This is a very simple recipe that results in a tasty pot roast with little hassle ! I only use one can of soup but also add in worcestershire sauce and sometimes use red wine in place of the water. I like to flour the roast and brown before adding to the crock pot. Super easy with lots of gravy ! Great with Yorkshire Pudding !

Burrito Pie

We loved this recipe ! I used the layering method that LISAKP71 suggested. By hubby's recommendation, we also used a layer of crunchy tostada tortillas in between two beany flour tortillas. While they became soft in cooking, I think they added a nice flavour to the finished dish. I also used refried black beans. I'll definitely make this again. Great leftovers too !!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Awesome, super tasty recipe ! I used a shallot instead of an onion and also added some Frank's Hot Sauce for a little kick. Everything else, I kept that same. It was moist and flavorful -- DH loved it :)

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

As suggested, I added carrots, snow peas, garlic and used whole wheat pasta. I cut down the vegetable oil to 1/4 cup also. It was great !

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
These cookies are fabulous. I made a few changes, I used all butter, exchanged 1/2 cup of flour for 1/2 cup of steel cut oats, added 1 tsp cardamom and I used dried cherries instead of raisins. I will definitely make these again :)

True-Blue Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2007
I made this for the 4th of July. It's fabulous ! I used red wine vinegar instead of the white wine vinegar. Like others, I also left the skins on and cubed them before boiling. I added more mayo than sour cream (since that's what I had) and it turned out really, really good !

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2003
Lovely recipe - YUM ! :) So easy and so good ! I made this for my birthday dinner and my husband and I were so pleased at the results. I added a few crushed cloves of garlic to the wine/vinegar and let it sit for a while before starting. I also used a very coarsly ground pepper/salt combination made for meats. Also, with all steak recipes, you should let the meat reach room temperature before cooking.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2003
These cookies turned out very good ! I used sugar free vanilla pudding and I think next time I will use regular pudding. I also used mini-chips rather than the regular. I baked them a few minutes longer; until they were light brown at the edges. The other reviewers who said they turned out hard must have made a huge mistake !

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2002
This was a lovely recipe that pleased everyone ! I served it with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The gravy was sooo good ! It took quite a bit longer than what the recipe calls for.....so be sure to equate more time into the preparation - it's well worth it though !
