Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
Indeed, as delicious as the reviews suggest. Great as-written. Also as versatile as the reviews suggest. I recommend making it as-is the first time, then making changes that will suit your families taste. Thank you for a great basic recipe -- it goes in the book in our household!

I will make these again & again. They are fresh, light, tasty, healthy -- what more can you ask for from veggies???

Breaded Chicken Limone

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
We love brussel sprouts, so I was excited to try this recipe. I made as-written (always always always the first time); While the chicken was quite good, we found the sauce to be quite bland. I had to tweak it allot at the end to give it a little flavor, so I'm only rating it 3 stars. Adding fresh saute'd onion and allot of garlic salt to the sauce made it into a nice dinner -- but it's not a keeper for us.

Crispy Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
These were, just as the name suggests, nice crispy fish fillets. They have a nice, light crust. I used fresh ono (like halibut), and they came out crispy, tasty, and flakey. I did not use nearly the amount of mashed potato flakes called for, however. This one goes "in the book"!

Lemon Horseradish New Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
Another "wow" for Allrecipes! This gives roasted potatoes an all new taste! The horseradish is just enough for a little zip, not at all overwhelming, and the lemon juice balances it out with a little fresh lift of flavor. Who would have thought to put these two together! Loved it, and will keep it in my "serve this to company" file!

Bacon and Blue Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
Oh, yummy yummy yummy! This is as good as veggies can get! Love those little brussel sprouts carmelized in a little butter w/vinegar....but this! This is over the top! I served this for dinner tonight as a side dish.....but I had it as a main dish for myself! Thank you for this great recipe!!!

Absolutely Amazing Ahi

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2012
If you've ever ordered an "Ahi Tuna Tower" in a restaurant, this is it! A great way to use up a little leftover Ahi from Ahi Steak night. I served it over a bed of greens with some Maui Onion dressing and called it dinner! Wonderful, thanks for the recipe!

Grilled Stuffed Swordfish

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2012
If you were served this dish in a fine dining restaurant, you would go home talking about it! It is so elegant, completely delicious, and strikingly different. Way above average! I think you can "play" with the stuffing, i.e. spinach, artichoke hearts, a little sharp cheese. We "plated" the fish over the leftover arugala mixture with some Maui onion dressing -- nothing eles needed for a wonderful, colorful healthy dinner!

Fisherman's Quick Fish

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
This is not the best choice if you are looking for something that accents a good piece of fish -- rather, this is a good choice for those who are not sure they love fish. Simple, fool-proof, tasty. I have over 100 fish recipes, and this one still goes in the book!

Fiery Fish Tacos with Crunchy Corn Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
We loved the salsa, but the fiery fish was simply overpowering -- and I cut the cayenne in half! We like spicy, but the flavors need to be in harmony -- this was not. The corn salsa is very different and was super delicious, and I will remake this with well-seasoned fish -- but to rate the recipe as-is, it only gets 3 stars in my book.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
We like this allot. It has allot of flavor without being killer-hot. Don't change a thing, the recipe is great as-written. I made the sauce early in the day, and it was a snap to get dinner on the table with a salad & strir-fried Asian veggies. This one goes in the book for sure!

Bay Scallop Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
This was lovely, light, and delicate. Very nice! I got the recipe from my girlfriend and used her additons (which do not actually change the recipe); Double the scallops; add equal amount of salad shrimp; dash of sherry and red pepper flakes @ the end if you wish for a little more flavor. NOTE: BLAND is not the same as DELICATE / BALANCED in my book -- or in my recipe book!

Flounder Zucchini Bundles

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
I found this to be bland, mushy, and really unremarkable. We eat fresh fish where we live several times a week -- so I know that there are so many better ways to fix good fish! The vegetables were tasty, but the fish was soft, watery, and not at all inviting. I fix salmon this way, in foil on the grill, so I had high hopes. But.....I would definitely not recommend this recipe for fish.

Grilled Halibut Steaks

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
This is a simple way to bring wonderful, delicate (moist!) flavor to white fish. We eat LOTS of fresh fish, and I liked that this recipe enhanced that great fresh taste instead of smothering it. I used Blue Marlin (swordfish), and served it on a bed of Mango/Peach Salsa with buttered brown rice. It was really impressively good, I will be serving it to comapny for sure!

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

This needs more than 5 stars!!! It is SO good, so very very good! Simple ingredients, quick & simple to make, and comes out tasting fabulous. No need to look further for that one wonderful shrimp recipe -- this is the one -- just FOLLOW THE RECIPE (I realize this is difficult for some of you :) and you will have amazing results. I made this for Valentines Day, and we are having it again the next night -- he has not stopped raving about it yet!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Simple, delicious, perfectly balanced flavors. I have been looking for a recipe like PF Changs -- this is very close! If you like it hotter, just add more another dash or two of chile pepper sauce to match your personal preference. We loved it, and I would not change a thing. Can't wait to make it again!

Pasta with Pesto and Scallops

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
I was impressed with how much flavor I got out of just these few simple ingredients. I always make the recipe "as-written" the first time, and I would not make any changes. It was delicious, light, and healthy, even with the linguini, which we personally served in half portions. I like more sauce, so added more pesto, but this is simply a personal preference. Overall -- excellent as-is, simple, healthy!

Scrumptious Salisbury Steak in Mushroom Gravy

I doubled the recipe, glad I did, it was delicious! use high quality ground beef, fresh mushrooms instead of canned, pay attention to the 1" thickness recommended for the patties -- we loved it!
