Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2014
Perfect! Reduced sugar to 1/2 cup and added coffee creamer instead of half and half (because I didn't have any).

Zesty Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
The only ingredient that I didn't have was fresh cilantro so I used about a tsp. of dried and it was fabulous! I bet it's even better with the fresh cilantro. Served this with walleye and a salad. I saved a little bit of the dressing for my salad. I may even start making it as a salad dressing it was so good. Thanks for the recipe.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2013
My husband raved about it which is HUGE because he lost some of his ability to taste after a head injury. Most things taste bland to him. This soup has big flavor! I had turkey bacon on hand so I had to use the 1/4 C butter to sauté the onions and celery. Served it up with grilled cheese with ham in them. Delish.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2013
This is a really good recipe. I made it exactly as the recipe said except (since I have small children) I only used half of the crushed red pepper and I added some green pepper and fresh green beans. Fabulous!

Wheatberry Waldorf Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2012
The only change that I made to this recipe was the way that I cooked the wheat berries. The only wheat berries that I could find were already parboiled so they only took 15 min to cook with no soaking. Make sure that you check the package for that. I am glad that I did or I would have had mush! I found that I only needed half of the wheat berries after I cooked them. The salad is great! The only thing that I would do next time is cut down a little on the nutmeg (only for personal tastes). The pomegranates really make the salad :) This recipe is great for quick, healthy breakfasts and snacks. Thank you for the wonderful recipe.

I didn't have any walnuts on hand (darn) but other than that, I made these cookies exactly as the recipe said. They were fabulous!

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
It really is the best spanish rice. I just added red pepper because I had some laying around. Also, I was out of salsa so I chopped up a couple of tomatoes instead and it was still great. I topped it with a mexican blend of shredded cheese.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
OMG. Best frosting that I have ever had! I made this exactly the way the recipe says to. I cut the recipe in half and it covered a 9x13 inch cake perfectly. I put this frosting on a chocolate cake (crazy cake from this website) for my son's 2nd birthday. Hands down, it was the best cake and frosting ever!

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Best lasagna recipe that I have made so far. I used ricotta cheese in place of the cottage cheese but I am wondering what the cottage cheese would taste like.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
Tons of flavor! My husband normally sticks his nose up at chicken but loved this recipe. I didn't have onion powder so I diced up onions and put with the rub. I will definately do this again next time. I also added vegatable stock to the sauce instead of doubling the olive oil and butter like some suggested. This was an exellent recipe. I predict that this will be eaten often in our house.

Steff's Shepherd Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
Great recipe. I used tomato soup instead of cream of mushroom soup, and added minced garlic while cooking the ground beef. I also added about twice the mashed potatoes as the recipe called for. Definately a keeper!

Baked Applesauce

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
This is the best applesauce that I have made so far. I think that baking is the key instead of boiling. (I learned that while making my own baby food).
