Marilyn's Cheesy Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2005
This is very good chowder - thick, rich and tasty. I cut the amount of cheese just a bit, but it definitely added a richness to the flavor without tasting too "cheesy". I will be making this one again and again. Thank you.

Chocolate Bar Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
I made this as one of my Easter desserts and it was a huge hit with the chocolate lovers at the table. My grandson practically inhaled his piece, while his father had two large pieces and then took the rest of the pie home. I didn't have a taste but still give it a five rating just for the praise I got. Thanks.

Lemon Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
A great addition to my Easter Dinner. This pie was so easy to put together! I upped the lemon juice to 1/2 a cup, added the zest from one grated lemon and used real whipping cream, and a small amount of yellow food coloring. For those of us that love lemon, this was a big hit. Thanks.

Fluffy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
Thank you for making me a star at my Easter Dinner. Everyone loved this dish. I did change a few things, I didn't add the flour. I used flavored cream cheese, green onions, added crumbled bacon. I also put a layer of grated cheddar cheese along with the French Fried Onions on the top of the casserole - too many calories for everyday but absolutely fantastic for a holiday dinner!

Fresh Strawberry Almond Pie

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
This is an excellent recipe. I didn't even use the almonds in the crust (didn't miss them). I saved some nice looking sliced berries and arranged them on top of the glaze which made the pie look very nice. It did get a little runny the next day, but the flavor was fantastic! I will definitely be making this pie again.

Omelet in a Bag

My husband is the breakfast maker in our house, and this is one of his specialties! These omelettes turn out great every time, and the fillings can be varied according to individual taste.

Easy Teriyaki Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
Excellent!! My family loved this recipe and it truly is so easy to put together. I did use half regular soy sauce and half low sodium soy sauce just to help cut some of the salt. We will definitely be making this again. Thanks.

Kraft's Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
Love this salad. I changed it around somewhat, but that is one of great things about this recipe, you can adapt it to any taste. I eliminated the green pepper layer, and added a layer of toasted slivered almonds, also added a layer of cooked cubed chicken and topped the salad with a ring of diced, seeded Roma tomatoes. Looked great and tasted fantasic. Just added some French Bread and a glass of white wine and we had a great supper. Perfect for a hot summer day!

Had last minute company from out of town, sent husband out for some rib-eye steaks and used this marinade. Wow, I was surprised at how good these were, everybody thought I had come up with a real winner - I was embarassed to tell them how easy and quick it was! Will be using this one again for sure. Thanks!

Peanut-Ginger Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
Boy, I would give this one 10 stars if I could. We loved it and I plan to make it again this weekend for my sister. I couldn't find chili paste at the grocery store so I used a red curry paste, I wasn't sure of the spiciness so I used about 1 tbsp. of the paste - wow, it really zinged! Also used no-salt, no-sugar peanut butter. Thanks Althenia for a great recipe.

White Chocolate Amaretto Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
Made this cake for a family birthday and it was a great success. I personally found it a bit too sweet, but I was the only one. Everyone came back for seconds and I could see my husband trying to discourage people from having more (so he could have the leftovers!) Thank you for a recipe that I know I will be making again and again!

Maple Glazed Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
We made these twice on the BBQ over the last summer and really enjoyed them. Good flavor and the meat did actually fall off the bones. I see in the reviews that someone did them in the crockpot and I will definitely be trying them that way. Both my husband and I love the sauce - we add thyme, garlic and pepper. Yummy!

We thought these were very tasty. I did add some extra herbs, and as others advised left the lid off for the final simmer. Very tender and easy to make. I will be making these again.

Veal Forestiere

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
My husband and I loved this dish. I used chicken broth, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I am a big fan of articoke hearts and I thought they added to the overall flavor of this dish. Served with a rice pilaf and broccoli, along with a glass of merlot. Yummy!

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
Add me to the millions of fans of this cake! I made it this weekend for my daughter's birthday and because she is a chocolate lover I used a chocolate cake mix and a chocolate instant pudding. Turned out fantastic, and when my daughter left to go home, the remaining cake went too!

Stuffed Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2008
Wonderful comfort food! I needed the comfort and didn't really feel like doing a lot of cooking, so I used boxed stuffing. I wanted lots of gravy so I used a can of mushroom soup and a can of chicken gravy. I added a bit of beef bovril to adjust the color of the gravy. This turned out to be a great family dinner, served with mashed potatoes and a veg. Thanks.
