Easy Teriyaki Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
Excellent!! My family loved this recipe and it truly is so easy to put together. I did use half regular soy sauce and half low sodium soy sauce just to help cut some of the salt. We will definitely be making this again. Thanks.

Steak Tip Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
I found this a little too strongly flavored by the Worchestershire Sauce. My husband, on the other hand, thought this was a very good marinade. I will probably make it again, but tinker with the amounts.

Omelet in a Bag

Reviewed: May 24, 2007
My husband is the breakfast maker in our house, and this is one of his specialties! These omelettes turn out great every time, and the fillings can be varied according to individual taste.

Ham and Potatoes Au Gratin

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
Very tasty. My only problem was that some of the potatoes weren't thoroughly cooked after 40 minutes in the oven. The next time I make this I will microwave the potatoe cubes first to speed up the cooking process. Good flavor, made a nice dinner with a green salad to accompany the casserole. Good way to use up left over ham.

Fresh Strawberry Almond Pie

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
This is an excellent recipe. I didn't even use the almonds in the crust (didn't miss them). I saved some nice looking sliced berries and arranged them on top of the glaze which made the pie look very nice. It did get a little runny the next day, but the flavor was fantastic! I will definitely be making this pie again.

Fluffy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
Thank you for making me a star at my Easter Dinner. Everyone loved this dish. I did change a few things, I didn't add the flour. I used flavored cream cheese, green onions, added crumbled bacon. I also put a layer of grated cheddar cheese along with the French Fried Onions on the top of the casserole - too many calories for everyday but absolutely fantastic for a holiday dinner!

Lemon Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
A great addition to my Easter Dinner. This pie was so easy to put together! I upped the lemon juice to 1/2 a cup, added the zest from one grated lemon and used real whipping cream, and a small amount of yellow food coloring. For those of us that love lemon, this was a big hit. Thanks.

Chocolate Bar Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
I made this as one of my Easter desserts and it was a huge hit with the chocolate lovers at the table. My grandson practically inhaled his piece, while his father had two large pieces and then took the rest of the pie home. I didn't have a taste but still give it a five rating just for the praise I got. Thanks.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
I feel terrible that we didn't like this dish more! I've had this recipe on file for years waiting for my store to stock Golden Mushroom Soup. I finally was rewarded last week and I immediately tried this recipe. I found it extremely salty but otherwise quite bland. I also thought that Angel Hair Pasta was not the right pasta for this heavy sauce. I followed the recipe exactly as written and probably won't try it again.

Sour Cream Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
I thought this was Ok. My family ate it but weren't overly impressed. I thought it was rather bland. If I were to make it again, I would eliminate the milk as I found the sauce a little runny, and I would also boost the seasonings a little.

Boiled Raisin Cake I

This recipe brought back many fond memories, I grew up with this cake being made by Mom every second week! Great flavor, easy to put together, lasts as long as your family will let it! Thanks for this great recipe!

Yum-Yum Corn

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
I can't believe I've had this in my recipe box for two years and only just now tried it! It's a wonderful way to prepare corn. I tried to cut some of the calories by using light cream cheese and using less than the recipe called for. I also cut the butter in half. I added a pinch of thyme along with the garlic to the corn, and used the parsley to sprinkle on top, along with some paprika. I left out the sugar entirely as I find corn quite sweet anyway. Turned out great!!

Slow Cooker Chicken Parisienne

Easy to prepare, but I also found this a little bland. I would probably make it again but would add some garlic, onion and additional herbs.

Roasted Tenderloin with Tricolor Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
This recipe turned out a wonderful meal. The meat and potatoes were flavored nicely, lots of garlic and I really liked the taste of the lemon with the beef. (In fact I added extra lemon peel). Easy to prepare. The only thing I changed was to add some rosemary to the rub.

Artichoke Chicken

This dish is so simple to make that it is great for every day, but it also has such good flavor that it makes a wonderful meal to serve to company! I like to accompany it with a wild rice pilaf and a couple of colorful vegtables, it's always a hit!

Double-Cheese Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
A very nice meatloaf. I used oatmeal instead of bread crumbs. I added garlic and Italian seasonings to the mix. Next time I would add worchestershire sauce as some others did. I especially love leftover meatloaf sandwiches for lunch and these were delicous. Thanks.

Apple Dumplings I

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
A very easy dessert to make. We found the sauce a little too sweet for our tastes, but I will try again and either cut the sugar or perhaps leave the sauce out entirely. They sure smell good when in the oven, my husband was hanging around in the kitchen just waiting to try them!

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
This gets a five for both simplicity and flavor. We happen to love rosemary, but this recipe would adapt well if you used dill, thyme or any herb of your choice. Thank you for a lovely way to prepare pork chops.

Lemon Wow Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
A great cake! I used a lemon cake mix and made a lemon glaze. My husband especially loved it and has requested it for his birthday cake. I can hardly wait to serve it again, I think it would be fantastic with either fresh sliced strawberries or a blueberry sauce and whipped cream. A definite keeper!

These are so simple and never fail to impress! I have made these many times, most recently to decorate my daughters birthday cake. They also make a wonderful addition to any dessert tray.
