Roasted Tomato Salsa I

A very simple recipe but, since I'm from Texas, I'm used to very spicy or hotter. Next time I will add more jalapeños for more of a bite. I did add some hot sauce since the salsa was a bit bland along with some garlic powder. Now we're getting close!

Whipped Mashed Potatoes

Using an electric mixer does make creamier mashed potatoes. For more flavor try adding salt, pepper and garlic powder before boiling the potatoes. The seasonings cook into the potatoes before mashing.

Glazed Meatloaf II

This was by far the best meatloaf ever! I made it this past Sunday for our family dinner and by the end there was no meatloaf left. I never thought of putting lemon juice or brown sugar in the glaze. Boy was I surprised at how good it tasted. I made extra to put on the table in case anyone wanted more and it too was gone. Will surely be making this again. Delicious!

Traditional White Bread

Wished I could rate this higher. I made this bread yesterday and WOW. I made bread in the past and it always turned out dry and dense. This recipe came out moist and perfect and very tasty. My daughter couldn't wait for it to cool. As soon as I cut the loaves she right away grabbed the end parts and slathered them with butter. I made toast out of a slice this morning and I must say, YUM! Thank you for this great recipe!

Big Al's Chicken

This chicken recipe was just perfect. I'm glad I read the reviews about 1tsp of salt instead of 1tbsp because it was delicious with 1tsp. I marinaded for about 18 hours then grilled the thighs for about twenty minutes, minding the fire all the time, because it really was flaring up with the oil. I make mustard potato salad, corn on the cob ranch style beans and venison sausage along with the chicken on Easter Sunday and everything was deeeelish!

Salmon Patties I

Delish!! Made as written and came out wonderful. Only thing is, I don't understand so many people don't like the large cans because of the bones. Just crumble them up into the meat since they are so soft. CALCIUM!

Perfect Turkey

I've used this recipe for two years at Thanksgiving and will be using it again this Thanksgiving. Everyone raves about it and I feel really good inside when the turkey is picked clean and there's nothing left but bones.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

I agree with ale. White wine is the best instead of water. Putting veggies in the white wine such as onions, carrots, and celery (all in chunks) with sprigs of rosemary. Fantastic!

Old-Fashioned Scalloped Corn

Our family has been making scalloped corn for years but, we add minced onions minus the paprika. I will have to try it with paprika but, will keep using onions which really sets it off.

Tried this recipe tonight. The flavor was just hot, that's all. It needs a flavor of Mexico, such as tortilla chips, cumin or chili powder. Might try again but, add some extra flavoring.

Chicken Tortilla Soup

I had chicken tortilla soup years ago at a party and it was the best soup ever. I've tried making it myself from other recipes but, never could find one that tasted as good until now. Wow!! This was wonderful. After picking everything up from the store, I ran home to make this recipe. It smelled wonderful and the taste was out of this world. Thank you lady!!

Garlic Butter

Fresh Tortilla Triangles

I have fried tortilla chips and have found that if you fry them for too long, you will get really chewy chips. Two minutes seems a bit long. Try a minute and half.
