cut the recipe in half-- whoah- holy cookies! But followed the recipe with the exception of omitting the nuts. were wonderful-- so so good! (I let them chill for about an hour, but you probably wouldn't need to). 11 minutes.

Pecan Pie V

great alternative to corn-syrup-based pecan pie. my husband raved about it, and I don't generally think he's a huge pecan pie fan. I DID DOUBLE the filling recipe, though-- and that was needed for me to fill out a 9.5 inch pie pan.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2013
great rolls. made them to take to Thanksgiving today. They were a hit. A little sweeter than some bread- but not too much. Weren't too dense or too light- just right. Followed recipe- but old fashioned way- no bread machine. Did not make a large batch though-- 12 rolls that fit in a 9x11 inch pan.

Cranberry Orange Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
really good. I will try baking longer next time- as the loaf kind of fell apart upon taking out of the pan, but was very tasty. I almost wonder if was a little too moist with all the moisture from the cranberries and the mandarin organges- but great base recipe. may play with it a little next time. Cut down the sugar as well. I halved recipe as well-- didn't need 2 loaves laying around here!! :)

Quick Pork Fried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2013
good base recipe. I added more ginger (not fresh, didn't have any), more garlic, and soy sauce. may try adding some sesame oil next time... was good, just needs a bit more flavor and pep. might also add peas next time.

Pear Bread II

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2013
Good recipe. Made as followed, with the exceptions of replacing oil with unsweetened appleasauce, and using whole wheat and ultragrain flours in place of the white. I made them into muffins-- 350 degrees for about 18-20 minutes worked for me. Very good.

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2013
loved this recipe. the only changes I made were that I used oat flour in place of the wheat, omitted the oat bran and used 1/2 c oats instead, substituted 1/2 c honey for the sugar. Turned out lovely. not overly sweet this way-- but nutritious and wonderful for supper or breakfast. will definitely make again.

Buttermilk Honey Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2013
really like this recipe. have made several times-- works well every time. :) I do NOT use a bread machine, though... instead I only use 1 c milk, and use the other 1/2 cup liquid as water-- to mix with the yeast at the very beginning (put the vinegar and milk together in a separate bowl). I also use 2 c. all-purpose flour, and 1/2 c. whole wheat flour and 1/2 c. Ultragrain flour. too much wheat flour gives breads an almost bitter taste, in my opinion. Wonderful base recipe. Thanks!

Old Fashioned Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
Very good. worth making again for sure! The only things I changed were substituting 1/2 c of brown sugar and then 1 1/2 c. of white sugar for the syrup. I also put in an 8x11 pan and it filled it nicely. Basted the apple dumplings with the sauce about once every 10-15 minutes, which helped create a nice, crusty, golden crust- mmmm mmmm!! :) I also topped with a few chopped walnuts. will make again!
