Mom's Best Waffles

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2013
I am giving this 3 stars as written, but I added vanilla and cinnamon like some others suggested, and that made it 4 stars.

Ma Ma's Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
I would give this a 4 1/2 star only because the first thing I tasted was the saltiness due to the self rising flour. Not used to working with it, so this could just be me. Doesn't make the cookies too salty, just something I noticed, and I didn't frost these so if frosted might not notice at all. I got about 18 large cookies out of the recipe. I did add 1/4 tsp of almond extract in addition to the vanilla, which I think really made it super. Thanks and I'll be making these again!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
This is the BEST cinnamon roll recipe I have ever come across, and I have tried plenty of them! So easy and the rolls truly are ready in the 90 minutes. It says 20 minutes in the oven, and that was exactly right. I was a bit worried to make them with no frosting, but you don't need it. They are moist and perfectly sweet. I did take the suggestion of another person. I melted about a half stick butter, with a 1/4 c. brown sugar and a couple tsp of cinnamon, drizzled it over the rolls right when they came out of the oven. PERFECT. My husband who hates all homemade cinnamon rolls, he loves the ones you buy at the mall, loved them. Had to make a second pan!

Double Crust Stuffed Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
This was really awesome, the only thing is, my top crust kind of burned. I just peeled it off and everyone loved the rest of it. I think the sauce on top, with that high of a temp, might have been what happened. I did my own pizza sauce though, because my kids don't like chunky tomato sauces. I'll definitely make it again. Thanks!

Pudding Cookies II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2011
I followed this recipe exactly using pistacio pudding. didn't knead the dough or make them as cut out cookies, just drop cookies. These are the BEST cookies I've made in a long time and couldn't be easier to make. Thanks!

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
I used 8 eggs and followed the recipe servings for 3 to get the right measurements. Had to use red wine vinegar for the white vinegar, all I had. Awesome. So easy, perfect taste combo between sweet and savory. Will make these again.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
Perfect. I did what another reviewer suggested, added 2 tsp vanilla instead of 1, and used margerine. No problems with smooth or crumbly. 10 min for slighty smaller than golf ball size dough.

Valentino's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
Came together really nice and easy. I added basil, oregano, garlic powder to the dough, and it still was a little bland. baked for 15 min in oven on cookie sheet (didn't have a pizza stone) then took off sheet and put it back in on the oven rack for about 8 min.

Chocolate Snaps Sugar Cookie

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
My family loves these. My favorite chocolate cookie. I don't do the step where you put the 3 TBSP margarine in the pot and melt it with the cocoa. Not necessary. I just leave the 3 TBSP out all together and mix everything up like a normal cookie recipe, sugar and butter first, then the eggs, dry ingredients etc. The step of letting it sit in the fridge is also unecessary-this might be because I use butter flavored shortening (Crisco) instead of butter.

Fudgy Brownies I

The BEST homemade brownie recipe I have ever found. Tastes NOTHING like the box mixes. Easy, and almost always have all ingredients on hand.

Not any better than any other recipe. Couldn't taste the bananas. I have a better recipe I'll just stick with.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
This was fantastic! I did make some changes though. I used 9 small fresh peaches and one can of sliced in juice. Also added brown sugar and cinnamon to the cake mix, AND 2 peaches and cream instant dry oatmeal packets, and 2 apples and cinnamon instant dry oatmeal packets. I would've added oatmeal, but didn't have any. I suppose that would work just as well, probably 2 cups worth. Used one stick of margarine, small dots all over the top. No problems with it being too runny, my butter covered well enough because there were no dry spots. This is fantastic. I will make it again and again. I have even forwarded it to many of my friends! Thanks!

Cake Mix Cookies VII

Good cookie, might be even better with some sort of drizzle frosting. For my add in I used 2 envelopes of apple cinnamon instant oatmeal.

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
I was expecting these to be better based on reviews. I made exactly as written using a BC white cake mix, but rolled in sugar and cinnamon. I probably won't make them again. They might be better with a frosting or drizzle. Might try with a chocolate cake mix. Otherwise just ok for me.

Mom's Best Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
ok this was fantastic. I did change some things up tho, just because I didn't have ll the ingredients. Instead of the peppers, carrots and celery- i used chopped up black olive, dill pickle, sweet vidalia onion, an tomato. The amounts are really whatever you like. I didn't add any sugar, the sweetened condensed milk is sweet enough for this. I used red wine vinegar instead of white, because it was what I had on hand. I would never have thought of using the sweetened condensed milk in macaroni salad, but it was great. Thanks for this recipe, I will use it often!

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
Awesome! Would have given 6 stars if I could. I did make some changes based on other reviews. I used 1 C milk, almost 1 C oil, 1 C chips, and about 1/2 C Heath Toffee chips, (had them on hand). I think with the sugar topping, that the 1/2 C sugar in the recipe is enough. They are perfectly sweet. Made 12 big muffins (normal size muffin pan, not mammoth size muffin pan) and I did fill them almost completely full. (19 minutes in the darker non stick pan.) They puff up tho, don't spill out over the pan. Going to be my go to muffin recipe from now on! Thanks!
