Turkey and Yam Spicy Tacos

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
You're silly not to give this recipe a try! I was looking for a recipe to use my ground chicken with and stumbled upon this. I wish I could give more than 5 stars that is how great it is!! I did double the recipe, but only used 1 large jalapeno because I have teenagers & small children (I didn't want it too hot for the little ones). I also added 1/2 cup of baby bella mushrooms, diced real small) because I needed to use them up. It was gone! Not one bit left for my husbands lunch the next day.

Chococonut Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
DELICIOUS flavor, but they were a bit greasy (will prob try margrine next time) & they came out flat; still very moist, with perfectly crisped edges. I will definitly make again! Made them yesterday and there is none left after packing school/work lunches today :) Thanks

My kids love them, so I wikll contiue to make them, but if your going for apperence, don't start here :)

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
great base recipe for creamy alfredo sauce. Not ever going to purchase jars of alfredo again. I didn't have asiago or sun dried tomatoes on hand so I used parmesan and fresh grape tomatoes sliced in half. Turned out amazing. I did also through in a few diced galric cloves to the pan when I sauted the onions and used more like a 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese insted of the tablespoon it called for.

Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Was looking for a good spicy sweet rub for our meats when we use our smoker. This is it! I have a large mason jar full of it premade in my spicy cupboard. Wonderful mixture! I've even used it in recipes, not just on meat.

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Delicious sauce!Tthis is a keeper. My kids dislike fish very much and I always try to find ways to make it to where they will eat it cause I love it. This recipe was the trick! I had Ahi fillets (not Mahi) and it was amazing. I think the sauce would work with any fish or poultry.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
great flavor no matter what kind of jello/berries you use (I've made it as recipe directed and also with raspberrie jello & raspberries, even raspberries & lime jello) the only thing I don't like about this recipe it that on your plate when trying to scoop it up the layers kind of seperate. I've made it many times and can't figure out how to make it not do this. Still worth making even though it does this :)

Cinnamon Griddle Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
These are good pancakes. Perfect size batter to make enough for my family of eight. I used buttermilk instead of milk, so I had to use 2 cups instead of 1 in order to make the batter thinner. Next time I will use less cinnamon (probably 2 tsp). I like the sugar & corn syrup in these, it gives them a perfect sweet taste without overpowering.

My new favorite way to have ANY cut of fish. Actually lost this recipe and just had to log on to find it again. Thank goodness I was able to, cause I'd be so sad without it. Thanks!

Macaroni and Cheese with Caramelized Onions and Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
been making this recipe for over a year now, don't know why I am just now writing a review because I should have long ago. I love this recipe! So does my husband and our 5 kids (one is not eating solids yet or I'm sure he would too). It is amazing. The ONLY thing that I changed is that I double the bacon/carmelized onion mixture because it is so delicious I can't get enough of it. You won't be disappointed!

Turkey in a Smoker

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
This is a great recipe. We've made it twice now (1 practice run & 1 on Thanksgiving for our family) both turned out wonderful! We used apple wood chips for the smoke. Skin gets blackened, but it is from the smoke & gets tossed anyways. Delicious & a keeper :)

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
AMAZING!!! Nothing needs changed. My husband hates when I cook soup, cause he's not really a soup eater, but he ate more of this then anyone else. My new favorite & I've been telling everyone I know about it. Thanks for such a great recipe!!

Mock Coconut Pie (Spaghetti Squash Pie)

very good! followed direction exactly. wouldn't say it tastes like coconut, maybe more like eggnog. definitely cannot tell that it is spaghetti squash. tried it when pie was still warm & tried it out of the fridge - both very good. worth trying!!

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
recipe lacked spices which I thought it needed, so I did add 1 tsp cinnamon. Also like I saw other reviews state the batter was thick and not very apple flavored so added some apple (I shredded 1 1/2 cups of apple and chopped 1/2 cup of apples), added 1/4 cup of oil and added 1 cup of Hershey's cinnamon chips. They turned out good, they were moist, but still could have used more apple flavor, gonna add more shredded apple next time. With these adjustments I would rate it a 4, but still a good base recipe for someone who likes to experiment like I do. Forgot to mention, I cooked for only 15 minutes.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
this is a great recipe. Perfect amount of batter to make enough pancakes for my family of seven eaters. Next time will add a bit more baking powder since these didn't seem to be as fluffy as they could be. Thanks for the recipe. A million times better than boxed pancakes!

Harvey Wallbanger Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
great recipe! this cake is the most moist cake I have ever made. Though not kid/pregnancy friendly, it was a huge hit by our adult guest. I gave it a 4 because the glaze didn't really glaze, but more soaked into the cake. This wasn't an issue, because I think it contributed to the moistness, but I would have liked to have had a true glaze look on it, instead I just dusted with powdered suger. Will definately make again (when I'm not pregnant so I can enjoy too)

Stephanie's Freezer Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
very good sauce! I sauted the veggies on the stove and then added all ingredients together in the crockpot. I only had 12 cups of tomatoes after cutting them all up, but decided to make the recipe with the same amount of ingredients listed. I think it turned out wonderful (we like full-flavored food though). I will make again with only 12 cups of tomatoes. I also let it cook over night in the crockpot in hopes that it would make it less watery, and it did. It came out just right to add an 8 oz can of tomato paste and serve when ready. I got 5 quart size freezer containers full from this recipe.

Caramel Apple Jam

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
Overall this is a great recipe! I did however make a few adjustments per reviews of others. I used 1 cup water and 1/4 c. butter to cook apples in. After cooking apples I used hand blender to mash up the real soft apples, but left chuncks to make the jam look pretty in the jar (which it does look beautiful). Another note that I think may be useful is that the recipe calls for 1.75 oz package of pectin, but I buy the pectin in the bulk jar, not packets, so after much research I found that 3.5 Tbsp is equal to a 1.75 oz packet. The jam is great! delicious on a slice of wheat toast with coffee in the morning! Thanks for the recipe :)
