I am a stay at home mom of 6 aging from 15 yrs to 6 months. I am married to the most wonderful man. I am thankful everyday for the life that I have :)
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! Anything that makes my house fill with smells of the holidays I love to make. I will spend the entire day sometimes doing nothing but whipping up delicious desserts to pass out to friends & family, just because it makes me happy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I used to sit in the kitchen and visit with my mother while she cooked away when I was young. I have my kids sit with me and visit while I cook dinners now. I enjoy hearing their stories and they don't even realize that they are spending time making memories that will last forever, just as I did with my mom.
My cooking tragedies
I set my kitchen on fire in 2007. That was the scarcest thing EVER! A girlfriend and I had spent the afternoon making tamales and I was making them for dinner that night. I throw them in the steamer pan and wet to do laundry, well the water evaporated much faster than I anticipated and when I lifted the steamer basket to add more water the lard/air combo sent flames flying out of the pan. Smoke was everywhere & my baking soda was in the cupboard above the flames. I screamed for the kids to get outside and got the fire extinguisher. Scary! Haven’t done that again thank god!

Turkey and Yam Spicy Tacos
You're silly not to give this recipe a try! I was looking for a recipe to use my ground chicken with and stumbled upon this. I wish I could give more than 5 stars that is how great it is!! I did double the recipe, but only used 1 large jalapeno because I have teenagers & small children (I didn't want it too hot for the little ones). I also added 1/2 cup of baby bella mushrooms, diced real small) because I needed to use them up. It was gone! Not one bit left for my husbands lunch the next day.

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad
very good! i used smoked cheddar instead of sharp because it was what I had & it was awesome in this salad. definitly a keeper!

Chococonut Chip Cookies
DELICIOUS flavor, but they were a bit greasy (will prob try margrine next time) & they came out flat; still very moist, with perfectly crisped edges. I will definitly make again! Made them yesterday and there is none left after packing school/work lunches today :) Thanks
