Onion Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
Love Love Love this! So simple, not many ingredients, and yummy. I read some reviews and also decided to change some things. I added 2 extra cloves of garlic, I used about 1/4 cup of oil and about 2 1/2 tablespoons of butter, I used 1 cup chicken stock and 1/2 cup heavy cream... It was delicious! Will definitely be making this often. my daughter loved it as well (only because she has no idea there are onions in there!).

Sausage and Peppers for a Dozen

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
yum yum yummmm.... BUT I HAD to cheat the recipe. My husband wanted me to make a sausage sammy for him, but he bought only already cooked spicy chicken sausage... STILL, with already prepared sausage and 1/2 the cooking time, it was delicious. Very little ingredients made for a fabulous sammy. :o)

Hot Buffalo Chicken, Bacon, and Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
I absolutely LOVE this sandwich... though this isn't the healthiest choice, it is amazing for a night off of my normal diet! I, like many others, like my buffalo chicken spicy so I tripled the amount of buffalo sauce. I also tossed the chicken is some of the sauce and before putting the sandwich in the oven, I poured some sauce on top of the chicken. I also added some grilled onions. LOVED this...!

Shrimp Verde

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
This was pretty good. You have to enjoy the flavor of parsley if you're going to make this dish. I followed some of the suggestions here and used 4 cloves of garlic, some Italian seasoning, ground black pepper, and a splash of white wine while it was all cooking. It turned out pretty good and took no time to make.

Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Maybe it's just me but it wasn't as great as I expected. I did use condensed mushroom soup with roasted garlic... could that be why? I also used some cheap mushrooms... maybe that's it? Anyway, it definitely was good (the husband loved it), but it's not going to be a regular around here.

Glazed Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
The flavor was REALLY strong... a little too much for me. I made and used the entire amount of sauce. As some others have suggested, I cooked the wings at 400 degrees for 10 mins on each side. Then I poured most of the sauce over the wings, leaving some for basting. I cooked the wings at 350 for about 45 mins on each side (which others also suggested). The wings were almost falling off the bone BUT the flavor was too intense. I will use less of the mixture and possibly add it way later next time.

Chicken Marinara

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
Really yummy! For the chicken, I used less butter (about 1/2 the amount called for) and some olive oil. For the sauce, I will be using less oil for sure. Maybe half the amount of oil called for. I used a little more parsley and left out the cheese, but other than that, I made everything just as the recipe says! Totally delicious and I am absolutely making this again! Thanks for the recipe!

Brazilian White Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
I love this rice. It came out perfectly and soft and delicious! I love that it's such a basic recipe; I can change a couple of things if I want to, add a couple of things, but I can always use this recipe, as it is, as a basic side dish with dinner. YUM.

Southwest Chicken Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
I really enjoyed this salad. I made it the first time as is and felt the lime flavor was a little strong for my taste. I doubled the recipe and marinated the chicken overnight using half the dressing, as other users suggested. I also used less lime juice ( a little more than 1/4 cup because I doubled the recipe). I used about 3 cloves of garlic and more cilantro than called for - we love garlic and cilantro. I added corn and avocado to the salad, but I think I will cut the avocado, the parm cheese, and the chips next time to have a slightly healthier version of this salad. It has enough flavor on its own and is pretty substantial with the beans, added corn, and chicken.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
YUMMMMMMMYYYY. The only thing I changed was that I cut back on red pepper flakes by half, used an egg instead of milk, and literally only used one dash of Tabasco hot sauce (although I prefer Franks Hot Sauce). My daughter and fiancée loved them... I am buying a few of pounds of lean ground beef this weekend so I can make a batch and freeze for the week! This is in the regular rotation now!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
We loved this recipe. The only changes we made were to used fresh basil (we had to use it up before it went bad!), we used dijon mustard and we cut the paprika to 1/2 tsp. It was awesome. My daughter and husband loved it. I served it with the Orzo with basil and parmesan from this site. YUMMY.

Greasy Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
Yummmy... But I have to be honest, I totally felt my arteries collapsing onto each other!! :o) But I expected that much because it is Greasy Chicken! So, this still gets 5 stars because the flavor was on point and the drippings made the rice delicious. I made it with chicken thighs and followed the recipe exactly. What I like about this recipe is that the "grease" drippings are not a must as the chicken tastes great without them. So if it seems like too much "grease" for you, then cut down on the drippings for the rice and chicken. :o)

Wilted Spinach

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
Wayyyyy too much liquid/vinegar! I took the advice of others and, rather the halving the sauce, I tripled the spinach recipe (12 oz.) and there was still too much liquid. Maybe applying this same recipe to 12 oz. of spinach and halving the oil and vinegar? Also I brought the ingredients (minus the spinach) to a simmer in a pot, then added the spinach until it wilted. Next time I'll add some feta and dried cranberries maybe? I don't know, but I'd still try it again!

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
Absolutely delicious. It's not too spicy, just the perfect amount. We were going to order Chinese food but I wanted to try this instead... it was ready before the delivery man would have gotten here! It was awesome with white rice. I tripled the sauce because I added some stir fry veggies ( as other reviewers suggested) and it was perfect, although I have to say I am not generally a fan of soggy frozen veggies but I needed something quick. Keep the sauce recipe as is! Next time I may add some FRESH cooked veggies, but frozen works fine in a pinch too.

Spicy Cajun Shrimp

Yummy but VERY SPICY!!! I cut the cayenne pepper by almost half and it was STILL too much for some, though just about right for me. The flavor was awesome. Will definitely make again, but with less heat.
