Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
My husband said this is the "baum diggity!" Everyone loved this recipe, made exactly like it is written except that I used three cloves of garlic instead of two and milk instead of water. This will go into the family treasury.

Tam's Black Eye Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Best black eyed peas ever! I'm a vegetarian, so I left out the turkey and the sausage, but everything else I cooked as directed. I served it with turnip greens and the homesteader's cornbread from this site. Wonderful!

Green Onion Dip I

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
My very picky husband said this was the best dip he's ever tasted. I agree- and can't wait to make it for my next office party. We tried it with tortilla chips, wheat crackers, and french bread- all very good.

Ratatouille Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
My whole family loved this recipe! My husband normally doesn't care for vegetable soup but he said this one is a keeper. I used a little more tomato sauce, 24 ounces total and a cup more water, then cooked the soup down to a stew right before I added the pasta. I also added a cup of chopped fresh mushrooms and half of a small chopped onion. Yum!

Creamy Shell Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
The dressing was wonderful! My picky nine year old devoured the pasta. I made the dressing exactly like the recipe but I added ingredients I had on hand, finely chopped zucchini and red bell pepper, shredded carrot, bacon bits. Absolutely the best pasta salad I've ever eaten!

Baked Apricot Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Wonderful! I took a reviewer's advice and used a cup of chopped onion instead of the onion soup and it was fresh and flavorful but not too sweet. I added pineapple twenty minutes before done and served over white rice with plenty of the sauce. Coupled with a lettuce, zuccini and carrot salad with honey mustard this was a divine meal.

Cinnamon-Sugar Popcorn

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
Love it! I never trust store bought popcorn like this because I am allergic to nuts and all those things are made with nuts or in factories with nuts, so this was awesome!

Banana Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
Very moist and flavorful cake. I don't care for banana flavoring but I loved this cake. Did not need any icing but am going to try it with a fuit compote that I made tonight. I think any warm fruit would be nice with this. Thanks for the recipe!

Mother's Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
I thought this was very good and my family enjoyed it. I would not add salt, though. The ham made it plenty salty enough. I used chopped zucchini instead of celery and seasoned bread crumbs. This was a very nice dish.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
Very good and very easy! To keep it moist, I brushed the chicken with mayonaise before adding the breadcrumbs, and I made a honey mustard sauce for dipping. You could also drizzle the sauce on the chicken. I served this with a side and salad but it is very filling, so next time just a salad.

Coconut Raspberry Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
These are delicious, but expensive to make. Raspberry jam when you find it is three times the cost of the other jams but of course theres no substitute for the taste of raspberries. I love them. Add in the cost of the vanilla chips and walnuts plus coconut this becomes pretty pricey for a dessert, but it is a good treat for a special occasion.

Rubbed Down Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I agree with most reviewers this was very good. It was tender and had a bit of a kick, too. I did have to add water a couple extra times or it would have dried out. Still, I would definitely recommend it.
