Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Was pressed for time, used Italian seasoning as I had no parsley, used bone-in breasts which were pretty large, so I baked for an hour instead of 30 minutes. Was impressed with how moist the breasts were, and the coating was very flavorful, if a little soggy on the bottom (but still tasted good). Everyone liked these, I will make them again.

Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
My first time making a pecan pie, my husband loved it. Very easy to make, and I thought the 9-inch pie shell was the perfect size.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Made these for Christmas dessert and it was oh so delicious. I did as others suggested and cut down the sugar to 2 cups and the milk down to 1-1/2 cups, and it worked perfectly. I used an Oreo crust for one pie, and a chocolate graham cracker crust for the other--the Oreo crust was by far the best. I made both pies the night before, which made the consistency perfect.

Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Never used BBQ sauce in Sloppy Joes before, but this is one of the better Sloppy Joes recipes I've tried. The combo of yellow mustard AND cider vinegar left a little overwhelming vinegar flavor, so I might tinker with that a little, if I make it again. Also cut down a little on the brown sugar. Otherwise, a tasty recipe.

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Made these for New Years Eve. Was good, except I used light mayo to combat the calories a little--which impacted the flavor slightly. Easy to make though, with ingredients most people have on hand

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I made no changes to the recipe and it turned out great. Moist, tender, delicious, and so easy to make. I found the 9x13 pan to be perfect, and it was barely any trouble to spread the batter in the pan, even if it was a little thick. Pieces came out just right, not too thick, not to thin. Will be making again for sure!

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
A deliciously simple recipe for basic (and tasty!) Scalloped Potatoes. I didn't have to add or change a thing, other than it took forever for the milk to boil (I poured it straight from the fridge) so I wound up cranking the heat to 475 until it boiled, than lowered to 425 and started checking for doneness after 30 minutes. These were a BIG hit at Christmas dinner, my husband said they tasted just like his grandmother's. I'll be making these again.

Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
I, like many, was skeptical, but the great reviews enticed me to try it out. I halved the recipe and Wow! So good! It was a BIG hit at our Christmas dinner table. I'll definitely be making these again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2010
Truly, a delicious and easy pie. I added a little cinnamon, but I'm sure it would be just as good on its own. I've made it every thanksgiving for the past three years, and I've gotten nothing but rave reviews. Hooray for Grandma Ople!
