Screaming Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2005
Great! I do recommend leaving the lid off and letting the water boil out and the potatoes get a little crusty. These were yummy and a big hit!

Lemon Pepper Green Beans

A nice way to add a twist for something different than the run of the mill green beans.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2005
Update 09/2011: I make these every Thanksgiving (and some Christmases depending on the menu) and get RAVE reviews every time. In current years I get people asking if I'm making "those awesome mashed potatoes". THEY REALLY ARE THAT GOOD!! 03/2005 Sooo good! My whole family LOVED these!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2004
Great tasting, and best of all--easy!! Next time I'll play around with peanut butter chips, mint chips, etc and make some flavored fudge. This is a great recipe and it got lots of compliments! Thanks!!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2004
This was overall good I suppose, though it was a little on the sweet side. It got 50/50 ratings on Christmas. Half thought it was delicious, the other half thought it was just ok. It's worth trying to see if your tastebuds like it!

Baked Omelet Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2004
This was yummy. I almost left out the jalapenos, but opted to put them in half the pan, and glad I did bc it gave a great flavor. Used everything suggested. This was tasty, easy, and quick! I would season it up a bit next time and use fresh mushrooms in place of canned, but an overall great recipe!

Cornbread Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2004
I've been making a similar recipe for years but didn't have 'measurements' so it turned out different each time. Thanks for helping end that! LOL I also use regular stovetop Turkey stuffing, but this was raved about! I also added mushrooms to mine. VERY GOOD! Thanks!

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
This was pretty good. I liked it, as did my family (made it in the crockpot but followed the rest of the recipe to a 't'). My favorite is still the "Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast" found on this website though. This was an overall good recipe.

Monterey Chicken with Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2004
Didn't care for the chicken, but like other reviewers I liked the potatoes. Will possibly cook them like that again. The chicken tho, hmmm...I think it didn't soak in enough of the flavor. Maybe season it a bit more, then marinate it in the lime sauce for more flavor and brown it for better texture? It had enough potential to try some new things with it, so I may. For now, as is, 3 stars.

Chicken Parmigiana

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2004
I thought this was a good recipe. I folled recipe exactly with two exceptions. I pounded the breasts flatter first for even cooking and flavor and I used a little more cheese than called for bc of my family's preferences. Dh said it was 'ok' (but keep in mind he's a picky one lol). I did enjoy it and the kids ate it all up too!

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2004
Simple and delicious! I even liked them and I HATE porkchops! My husband who usually doesn't care for most pork chop recipes other than fried (lol) loved them too! Reminiscent of fried, but with more flavor, and the boullion keeps them moist. (Oh btw I halved the recipe) As far as the salt content, I thought it was borderline too salty, but dh thought it was perfect. For those that enjoy salt, you will like it as is; for those that like a lighter salting, opt to half the salt and add more after cooking to taste.

The Aztec Five-Step

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2004
I liked the flavor of this recipe. I did use cilantro instead of the epazote because I've never used it, wasn't sure of the flavor, and didn't want to take a chance on my family not liking it after all the work that goes into this lol. I followed the rest of it to a 't'. I do think it tastes even better the next day (I just mixed everything together in a tupperware instead of saving each layer seperately and it was yummy). I do not however agree with all here that this recipe is worth all the work. I have made some elaborate recipes which are worth all the work, but I am sorry to say, for us this is not one of them. I think it could be done with many shortcuts and have the same flavor. Will tinker with it and find an easier way to make it. But overall flavor deserves 4 stars!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2004
Found it average in flavor. Texture wise it was too greasy and I also had a hard time with it falling apart. I wonder if it has to do with the fat content in the beef (but mine was extra lean) or the texture that you crumble the crackers?

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2004
This was flavorful, but did find it to be a bit greasy. I think next time I'd omit the butter and opt for cooking spray instead. I will also use a bit more potatoes, maybe mine were too small, but there was a lot more 'stuff' than potato here. I think with the above named alterations, tho, that this would deserve 4 stars.
