Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
it was a little thinner than i would like. i will use less cream next time. i did use a table spoon of butter as others suggested. FYI this makes a lot. i used it to glaze a bundt cake and i totally could have halfed the recipie.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2012
This was great. This was our main dish so i added peas, and carrots to the onion sautee. I realized near the end that i used teriyaki sauce instead of soy. so i added a few splashes of that at the end. either way i used way more sauce than the recipie. I used about 4 tablespoons. Yummers!!!! It was a delish mistake. I will do it this way each time. This was my first time making my own fried rice. I like mine better than take out.

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
I made this today. I followed the recipe for 9x9 pan as it is just for me. Wow it tastes great. My plan is to make this as a quick breakfast on the go. I am gonna freeze a portion of it to see how it tastes. If its good then I can make larger batches and defrost as needed. The only modifications that I made to make it a bit healthier was to add 1/4 cup of oatmeal and 3/4 cup of flour instead of a whole cup of flour. I also sprinkled in some ground flax seed. As reccommend by others I doubled the amt of granny smith apples. This has lots of possiblities. I can see adding in cranberries or rasins too next time. I will definately make this again. Sorry to be one of those reviewers that modify ...but I always see these recpies as a base to modify my personal preferences.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
I made this as directed. I did add a touch of crushed garlic. I had never had brussel sprouts before. I felt they came out good. I see room for adding more flavor in the future; so i would play with other seasonings next time. I did see where the "mushy insides" may not please some. The next time i will try cutting them in half. I did use frozen sprouts. I would make these again. ;)

I have made this several times. My husband really likes it. He is a picky eater but devours this each and every time. He even told his friends and their wifes have asked for the recipie.

Baby Blue Punch

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
This was a hit. I did the modifications as others did but the ratios were not very clear if you used hawaiian punch. So I used half of a container of the hawaiian punch, 1 2L of Sprite, and about 1/4 of a container of white grape juice. About 9-10 scoops of pineapple sherbert. They drank it dry. I ended up making another bowl of punch. I would refer to this in the future for other gathering using other punches etc. I have to say i dont like hawaiian punch, I would never just buy it to drink regularly ... but this was good.

Make Ahead French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
This was good. I did decrease the milk. I like my french toast kindda firm not soggy. This is perfect for a large crouwd at breaskfast or overnight guest. I will definately make again!!!!!!!!!!! In the future I plan make less of the liquid/batter to dip the bread. I only needed a half of a loaf and there was enough liquid to do a full french loaf i think.

Spanish Rice Chicken I

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
I made this for the first time minus the chilies and diced tomatoes. I added a bit more salsa instead. Others commented it was a little runny. A pinch of flour fixed that. For the chicken I cooked boneless breast on the grill. I spiced it up with salt pepper and ms dash fiesta blend. I squirted a little lime juice on top before seasoning and grilling. It was good. I sprinkled some left over taco cheese on top.....yum yum
