Chicken Pot Pie IX

I made this yesterday with whole wheat flour, it tasted so good! also I double the sauce recipe. I found it a bit too saucy, maybe next time I'll try one and half the recipe. Made two recipes and they were gone in an hour. :) I add nutmeg and a little bit of basil to make it more flavorful. I also poached the chicken with some salt and pepper for 15 min. (boil water in high heat, add chicken, cover , turn down to medium low for 15 min.) I would add more veggies next time.

Butternut Squash and Turkey Chili

Delicious! I didn't follow this to the tee.. because my squash is huge! but I used specifically pasilla chili - it will give a nice warm kick! Don't worry, cook it a bit longer the squash will neutralize it and a bit of sugar will do the trick. I add black bean also in addition to the kidney bean, and instead of hominy i added corn almost at the end. The result is so yummy and warm. It's warm and good for winter. The squash melts in your mouth and you get the nice crunchy sweetness of the corn.

Potato Leek Soup III

I love it!!!! the second time i made it, I added more leek, onion, garlic and a few little red chilies finely chopped. and a few dash of paprika. very yummy!

Red Velvet Cake I

This is my FIRST CAKE EVER! so i didn't know what i did wrong, the recipes is only enough for one layer of 9 inch square pan. It was a very dense cake. It wasn't as good as my friend's red velvet recipe. but my dad liked it ok. That's all that matter :) I like the frosting! fluffy way without using too much sugar and butter. Instead of using somuch butter I substitute part of it with flaxseed. The frosting result is not pure white, I think it's more adorable than white. and I don't feel guilty eating it. it gives the frosting a bit of nutty feel.
