Vegetarian Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
I really liked this recipe. It is time consuming, but it was worth it to me. My husband is not a vegetarian, so I browned some ground beef and sprinkled some in the rolls that he would eat. We ate them a couple of days in a row and then froze the rest. I'm sure they'll come out fine, as I have frozen regular cabbage rolls with success.

Pecan Pie Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2006
I'm baking this recipe again this year for the holidays. Thought I had rated it, but I hadn't. It's wonderful! I do bake it 15-20 minutes longer than stated and check it every five minutes. Also, I use parchment paper on the bottom of the pan.

Jiffy Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2005
I made this recipe twice and we liked it. I think some of the not so glowing reviews missed the "jiffy" part of the title. Yes, I cooked the onions and meat together also. I did add a bit of garlic and seasoned salt. After the dish was cooked, I added a layer of chopped olives. And I set out sour cream, which several people said was a good addition. The second time I made it, I didn't have enough potatoes, so I supplemented with a cup or two of cooked brown rice. I almost always have some cooked brown rice in the fridge, so it didn't slow me down. This is a keeper because it's QUICK! and also tasty.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2005
love this recipe, I blanch the florets for one minute and then cool. Makes them bright green. I blanch the stems for 3 minutes. Just my preference. This time I added a few cooked noodles to extend

This is a good recipe. My first attempt at Divinity. I was always afraid to try. Made it today with my 10-year-old granddaughter. I couldn't call it really easy because it does require close attention to the directions. If you beat it too long after adding all the hot syrup and the vanilla, it may become a very sticky, gooey mess (as noted in reviews of other Divinity recipes here). I got mine into the pan in time, but what remained in the bowl couldn't be budged without hot water. I'm just guessing that if I had beat it much longer and it had cooled any more, it would have been very difficult to get into a pan.

Fudgy Chocolate Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2002
I had not made a chocolate pie for years. I do make instant chocolate pudding once in a while, but forget the instant stuff now!! This recipe was smooth, firm and very choclate-y! It thickens up quickly. Keep stirring and watch the heat! I think I'll mix up the dry ingredients, sugar, corn starch, flour, salt . . . to make it even quicker next time. Measure the cornstarch and flour carefully because you wouldn't want it any thicker.
