Naan

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
Great naan, even though I cheated. I used the exact recipe, but threw everything in my bread machine on manual. When it had gone through the second kneading cycle, I took the dough and continued as directed. When it was ready to cook I pulled the dough into rectangles and cooked them in my cast iron skillet on the stove. The bread came out looking and tasting exactly like the Naan served at my local Indian restaurant Any recipe that's so forgiving and tasty deserves 5 stars.

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2014
I LOVE this soup. Yes, it's thick, but that's the way I like it. I made it just as written many times. To make it faster I cut up the chicken add 2 Tbs of olive oil and brown it in a stock pot. Then I add the onion. Once everything is in the pot, I simmer it for an hour. If you want to spice it up replace the tomatoes with a can of tomatoes and chiles and a can of fire roasted tomatoes. It's the best thing for a cold, it beats the heck out of regular chicken soup.

Coconut Pecan Frosting I

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2013
Ok, here's the deal, I made this recipe exactly as written. I did use another reviewer's suggestion about melting the butter at low temp. and then adding the condensed milk and egg yolks. When it's all in the pan mix the heck out it with a whisk before you put it back on the burner and you won't have to temper the eggs. No offense Cooking Divas, I just hate tempering eggs. You must whisk AND cook it for the whole 10 minutes. (I understand that finding an entire 10 minutes without a child crises, the phone ringing or someone coming to the door is next to impossible, but this step is crucial.) The mixture really thickens the last 2 1/2 minutes. Follow these steps and you'll be rewarded with a sinfully delicious frosting that will leave your family begging for more.

Grain and Nut Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: May 22, 2013
I cut the proportions to make 4 pancakes, but still used 1 egg and they came out perfect. I love IHOP's nut and grain pancakes and now I can make them at home. Thank you so much for sharing this great recipe.

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
I love this sauce and have made it many times. If I'm in a hurry I use 1/2 Tbs powdered garlic and 1 Tbs powered onion instead of the fresh. Then all you have to do is throw everying in the pot, no chopping or straining. If you like less tomato flavor omit the tomato paste. This is a great sauce even when you "cheat".
