Best Marinara Sauce Yet
This is very tasty sauce but I can't give it 5 stars because I believe the amount of olive oil is just way too much! I usually read the reviews prior to making a recipe but didn't have time. After making this and realizing how much oil it called for, I went back and looked and read about 12 reviews before anyone even mentioned it. I know it's only for sautéing the onion, but 6 tbs for 1/3 cup onion? Ridiculous! I should have drained it but instead, I followed the recipe and added the sauce and wine. It tasted good, but you could see it was oily. 2 tbsp would be plenty! I don't know if that was a typo or if someone just really likes olive oil, but that is my only complaint with this recipe. I used chardonnay for the wine because that was all we had. It was really very good, despite the oil issue.

Cream Cheese Spritz
I'm not a big fan of making spritz cookies because they are always such a pain to get to come out of the spritzer. But this dough worked pretty well. The only problem I had was probably the fault of the particular disk I used in my spritzer. Once I changed it, they worked fine. I made two separate batches (one red, one green). The first batch I made exactly as the recipe states, except with butter flavored shortening. For the second batch, I increased the sugar to 1/2 cup because they just didn't seem very sweet, and I added about 4 oz of cream cheese instead of 3 because they were a little crumbly. This all seemed to help. They're pretty good little cookies.

World's Best Lasagna
This is a wonderful lasagna! It says it serves 12. I cut it into 12 pieces. But we had 6 guests and we have 3 pieces left over! I guess it was a hit! I usually change up the recipes a little but this one I made exactly as shown, except I didn't have fennel. I couldn't find ground sweet Italian sausage so I bought Johnsonville sweet Italian bratwurst and took off the casings. Three brats was about 3/4 lbs. I didn't follow anyone else's review suggestions. I wanted to see for myself it it's truly the world's best lasagna and I do believe that it is! My only change would be to use shredded mozzarella just because it's easier and looks prettier on the top. It did make more sauce than I needed, so I used the extra sauce as pizza sauce for some homemade pizzas a few days later. Yum! I make lasagna for Christmas Eve every year and I think I've just found the recipe that I will use from now on! Thank you Johnchandler!
