Carol's Cinnamon Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
What an amazing recipe! My fiance made these for me as part of a surprise breakfast in bed and I was floored! It makes my waffles taste bland and boring. After the initial reactions of surprise, delight, incredulity and awe that he cooked something so delicious for me wore off I asked him how he made them. Thank you Carol! This is now part of our weekly menu. He added a little nutmeg to them to make them a little extra spicy, and whole eggs instead of just the whites because, and I quote here, " Why would anyone not use the best part of the egg?!?!" :) Thank you again!

Sweet and Salty Toll House® Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
Very yummy. I did not add the potato chips because that sounded really salty. I am at high elevation so I added a little extra flour,(1/8 C) but after the first batch came out VERY flat and oily, I added an additional 1/2 cup to the dough. Next time I will just add an additional 3/4 or 1 cup of flour to the whole thing. They came out great. Soft and delicious! Make sure to use unsalted butter for this recipe! The pretzels gave it just the right amount of salt-sweet combo!

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
I would love to give this recipe a 5 star rating, but the first batch I made was WAY too salty! Almost inedible salty. However, in an effort to save the rest of the dough I added 2TBS of ground Cinnamon, 1tsp of allspice, an extra 1/2 tsp of vanilla and a dash of nutmeg. After the additions they are my very favorite cookies ever and most of them are gone less than 24 hours after baking! Great recipe, just needs some tweeking. My oven is a piece so the baking time was a little off for me, I baked for 13-14 min, and the cookies are still soft and chewy the next day. YUM!

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2013
Chewy, chocolate heaven. No changes needed. I am never looking for another brownies recipe again. Rave reviews from both my chocolate apathetic fiancee, and chocoholic roommate. I will probably put pecans or frosting on them next time just to experiment for fun, but these babies really need nothing to be superb.

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2013
My new favorite way to make/eat salmon! The only thing I change is I add a thin slice of lemon to the top of the salmon before wrapping it up. That is in no way, shape or form necessary to the recipe though. Just my personal preference.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2013
I am a chicken lover in a house of red meat men. Those boys were speechless when I served this baby up! The flavors were amazing and so perfect! I have made it 3 times since I first discovered it and have not been disappointed! I did cut back on the butter after the first time to about 1/4 a cup and I added the dash of cayenne to give it a little extra kick. Overall, a wonderful recipe that is now a part of my routine meals!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2013
My mother's favorite desert is lemon meringue pie. I say this because I have never met a human so picky with her lemon meringue pies. This pie impressed her so much she asked for MY recipe!! Thank you Emilie! The only thing I changed about this pie is I added one tsp of lemon extract to give it an extra punch of lemon flavor. I highly recommend this recipe!

Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
I just tried this recipe out last night and it was delicious. My fiance absolutely loved it and apparently got up and ate the leftovers for his midnight snack! The recipe was easy to make and I did make a few adjustments due to what ingredients I had on hand. I used Kielbasa turkey sausage instead of ham and I also used a can of peas instead of frozen, but everything worked great. I will definitely make this one again.

Chocolate Fudge Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
These were easy and quick to make. My sister in law and I made them when we were craving some chocolate and they satisfied that craving! We followed the advice of some of the reviewers here and added an extra egg to make the cupcakes fluffier and 1/4 a cup of milk to the batter because it was REALLY thick. The frosting was very simple and easy to make and we also added a splash of milk to the frosting to make it smoother. Next time we will probably not bake them for the full time because the first batch came out a little overcooked. The second time we put them in for about 16 and it worked perfectly! We had to beat away our guys with the spatulas to keep them from eating the frosting before we had a chance to put it on the cupcakes, it is THAT good!!

Cheese's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
This was an amazing dish! My sister in law and I made it for an impromptu dinner party. We made it with Chicken sausage instead of kielbasa and sweet onion instead of a normal one and it was delicious! We also added a package of the powdered cheese from the boxed mac and cheese in addition to the normal cheese! It was wonderful and filling. We fed 4 men and ourselves with a little bit leftover. My fiance loves cheese and he was raving about it. Definitively going to make this again.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
Oh MY! These are the best sugar cookies I have ever had, much less made myself! I am a novice baker at BEST and these were so easy to make! I did change it up a bit though; I took the advice of several reviewers and doubled the amount of vanilla, I also used confectioners sugar instead of flour when i rolled them out. They are so sweet and light! I just pulled these babies out of the oven and they smelled so good I HAD to try one! Without icing or anything, these are phenomenal cookies. Great advice guys! Hopefully my house guests will love them as much as I do! (if there are any leftover;))

Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
This recipe was amazing! I did my first thanksgiving ever this weekend, and this pie was a hit! I took some of your advice and added about a tbs of flour to the filling and i also brushed beaten egg white on the bottom of the crust and baked it for about 5 minuets before filling it. I added about 1/2 a cup of chopped pecans to the topping , and it was amazing!
