About this Cook
I am a mother of 2 young boys with a very picky husband! He says he'll eat anything but dislikes everything!
My favorite things to cook
I love to grill & cook with BBQ sauce. In the winter, I like to cook with the crock pot to fill the house with great smells all day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have always loved making a feast for Halloween dinner. Last year we tried duck & that is now our yearly tradition. Looking forward to finding new ways to make it.
My cooking triumphs
I am slowly getting to where I can change recipes a little & they come out good. I am looking forward being able to come up with my own recipes.
My cooking tragedies
I once tried a slow cooker recipe with chick peas. Horrible!

Roasted Duck
The rating is for the recipe as written. The changes I made to make it 4 stars are as follows. No butter, just basted with duck juices half way through. Stuffed the inside with 1 lemon quartered, 6 pearl onions, & 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic. The skin was delicious. I plan on tweaking the stuffing some next time. Overall I really enjoyed the simplicity of this recipe.

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars
My family really liked this recipe & will be making it again soon. I used a mixer to mix the first 3 ingredients. Added the rice cereal then divided that between 2 8X8 pans. I put 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate in one pan & 1 cup of milk chocolate in the other pan. I warmed the knife under hot water before cutting which helped keep the chocolate from breaking. I definitely think you should double the chocolate as I did. As far as which kind, I think that is personal preference. My family was 2 for semi-sweet & 2 for milk. I hope this helps! Thanks for the recipe!

CindyD's Somewhat Southern Fried Chicken
The flavor of this chicken is awesome! We will definitely be making it again. I was out of eggs so I just didn't use them, which was fine. I do however think the cook time is too long. I tested my chicken 5 minutes before time and it was already at 200 degrees so I'm thinking maybe 10 minutes each side, maybe even less. Besides that the chicken was perfect! Making the gravy with some of the leftover flour however was not a good idea; it did not have a good flavor at all. I want to end on a good note so I'll state again, GREAT chicken! Thanks for the recipe! :)
