BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
I will never make Pulled Pork any other way ! This was FAB ! I added 1 large Vidalia onion chopped into the Crock Pot. I used Bulls Eye Sweet and Tangy BBQ sauce for the sauce. Better than any sandwich I've had in a BBQ Restaurant. Next time we will try it with my husband's home made Bourbon BBQ Sauce. Served with Sweet Potato Fries, Cole Slaw and Corn on the Cob for our Memorial Day BBQ.

Slow Cooker Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Wow this was great. I wanted something a little bit thicker so I used the Beef Barley STEW recipe PLUS the Slow Cooker Beef Barley Soup recipe together. It turned into a really thick soup. I used 8 cups of beef broth and 2 cups of water. One of the boxes of beef broth was a fancy one made from sirloin steak and was labeled BOLD. I added 1 TBSP of balsamic vinegar and a 1/2 Cup of White Wine. Cooked it for 8 hours on low. DELISH !

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
Loved It ! I did not read the directions correctly and put the Parmesan Cheese in the whole dip. I used "REAL" shaved Parm on the top with the suggested bread crumbs lightly sprinkled on top. Baked it 20 min in 350 oven. Then took it to a New Year's Eve party in the neighborhood and popped it in my friend's oven for 15 min on 400. It was GREAT !! Rave Reviews from all who ate it !

Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
WOW....great recipe. I was dying to try it with sesame oil instead of olive oil as one person posted, but had run out of sesame. The only thing I did different was I added about 1/4 cup of Lawry's Sesame Ginger Marinade to the whole thing. It sat in my fridge for 48 hours. I turned it twice a day. Roasted it on a rack and cooked a bit longer since we don't like even a hint of pink. This is an absolute keeper and will make again for sure.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
OMG, this was THE BEST Turkey Pot Pie EVER. It did take a long time to put together but worth every minute. My daughter who hates EVERYTHING loved it. I made it almost to the letter but I had some leftover "drippings" from the Thanksgiving Turkey so I used that instead of boullion cubes. WOW! Hats off to the person who came up with this one!!!!!!!

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
I have now made these potatoes both by original recipe in casserole dish and by doing them in the crock pot. I have to say I like them in the casserole dish. The crockpot made them have a strange consistency. They still tasted DELISH but for serving and presentation purposes, the casserole is the way to go!

Pasta with Gorgonzola and Sweet Onion

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2006
The flavour was FABULOUS but the presentation was lacking. I also felt like this needed some chicken. I doubled this recipe but when I went to make the pasta, it looked like it was too much so I cut the pasta to 1 1/2 lbs.... I think that next time I will also add some broccoli or Red Peppers as it needs some "colour". The Onion/Gorgonzola/Balsamic combo is so delicious....

Roasted Asparagus and Yellow Pepper Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2005
If less than one star was available, I would give it ! I love every ingredient in this recipe but the Red Onion ruined it. It overwhelmed it. I should have roasted the onion like someone suggested but I was afraid that the salad would be too limp. I would suggest using a Vidalia instead of a Red Onion. I made the salad exactly as written (minus the salad seasoning..I didn't know what that was either). The dressing was great.... This was my first disappointing recipe of all the zillions that I have tried!!

Jet Swirl Pizza Appetizers

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
Pretty Good but GREASY ! You know how sometimes you get a pepperoni pizza and you have to put a napkin on top of it to soak up some of the "orange" grease? I didn't put in Genoa Salami and opted to put in all deli sliced pepperoni. Made it last night for the Superbowl (Hooray for the Pats!) It actually tasted better to me COLD today for lunch !!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2004
This Dip is a "KEEPER" for sure !! Served this at the Superbowl Party with crackers and celery. I halfed the recipe and substituted Blue Cheese Dressing for the Ranch. It really does taste like Buffalo Wings! Everyone loved it. The other bonus is that it is Atkins friendly. I had what little was leftover for lunch today!!

Holiday Morning French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2004
This was pretty good. I don't think that I would make it again because the presentation was not so good. I flipped it over but it still looked ugly. If you are trying to impress...try the Creme Brulee French Toast on this site. That one is to die for!

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2003
I made this for Christmas Morning. It was absolutely fabulous and EVERYONE loved it and RAVED about it. I did NOT cut the Crusts off of the bread and it was great. I doubled the recipe too. I didn't have 3 Cups of half and half so I used 2 Cups of half and half and 1 cup of milk and it was still delicious. This is a KEEPER for sure and will become a tradition!!!

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2003
I ran out of pecans so I substituted sliced almonds for the pecans and it was delish !! The glaze was VERY sweet...and mine was a little grainy but still great. I think I will make this again though with a few tips from here !!! (Brown Sugar for the glaze instead of white sugar, use pecans next time too) A keeper !!
