Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Perfect. I roasted five sweet potatoes and that made it really easy to pop right out of their skin. I made this for Thanksgiving and refrigerated for a day or so until I was ready to bake it. I did use brown sugar instead of white but it turned out delicious!

Squash Casserole II

Really good. I topped it with crushed up cheese crackers mixed with little butter. It was one of the first dishes gone at Thanksgiving.

Pumpkin Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Not bad, but I was overall a little disappointed in this. Definitely cut down a little on the pumpkin pie spice. Maybe I wanted this to come out of the pan in perfect squares, but it was really messy. It tasted good, just not exactly what I wanted.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
Very very good as is. I did on a second batch use pumpkin pie spice in place of all the other spices, and usd half brown and half white sugar. Frosed with cream cheese frosting from this site. Really good! DO NOT overbake. Watch them carefully

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
Very very good stew. Used leftover smoked turkey and boston butts from a party the night before. I didn't use the ketchup because in previous preparations it was too sweet. Beware,.it does make a LOT. I used two cans creamed corn and two cans whole kernal corn. I have a ring on my finger but no paper yet so lets see where this gets me!

Brown Sugar Brownies

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
Very very good! I added one King size bag of M&M's, and it reminded me of a big cookie cake! I did use an 8x8 pan- I'm not sure how you could have spread this recipe into anything bigger. The consistancy of the dough is really sticky but don't be alarmed. It cooks up really well. I will definitely use this again- it was super easy!

Buttermilk Chocolate Cake with Fudge Icing

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2008
Overall a very rich and moist cake. I recommend increasing the cocoa powder to at least 1/4 cup, and double the frosting recipe. I also poked holes in cake and frosted while warm (not hot). This cake only gets better as it sets, so make a day ahead of time if possible! Also keep an eye on the time. Mine was done about 5 min before recommended time. Thanks for the great recipe!

Banana Bars

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
Really good and moist. I would either double the recipe or put it in a smaller pan because they were kind of thin. Great recipe though!

Chewiest Brownies

Reviewed: May 3, 2006
These suck. Don't know what I did wrong- I followed the recipe exactly- they didn't rise at all and tasted like dough even after baking for 45 min. Take my advice and don't waste your time on these.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2006
SO SO SO GOOD! This bread really needs to be made a few days ahead of time and wrapped in foil. The flavors really develop and it gets soooo moist after a couple days. I did use 3 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice instead of all the seasonings. Served with cream cheese frosting off this site- The BEST!!!!!!

Cajun Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
I found this to be pretty salty-and I love salt. I used Tony Cacheres Creole seasoning. I really liked how moist these were so I am going to try it again with another seasoning blend. A good starting recipe, but definitely room for improvement.

Really Good! I added a chopped apple and a dash of nutmeg, but followed recipe exactly besides those changes. Mine seemed to need an extra 15 min in the oven, but baked perfectly with the extra time. Thanks for the great recipe!

Cheesy Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
Although we all enjoyed this casserole, I felt like the Velveeta was unneccesary. It would still be cheesy without it, and the Velveeta did not melt properly, causing there to be "globs" of it all through the casserole. I will make this again, just will leave the Velveeta out.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
Very good!! I doubled the recipe and used 2 tablespoons of Old Bay. They reheat very well in the oven on a baking stone. If you refrigerate the mixture before patting them out, it helps out tremendously. Thanks for a great recipe!
