About this Cook
I'm nineteen. I decided to start learning to cook sometime a couple years ago because I was tired of eating instant food that is packed with sodium and MSG.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, Tex-Mex food, vegetarian, Puerto Rican food, french toast, baked treats.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is from Puerto Rico, so we eat rice and beans a lot and we season all our meat with Adobo seasoning.
My cooking triumphs
I slightly changed Zeke's Tortilla Soup recipe and my family loved it. They also love the French Onion Soup Gratinee recipe off this site. Well, me and my mom do at least.
My cooking tragedies
Once I tried to make a Spanish tortilla after I saw my exchange student's mom do it in Spain..not a good idea.

Chicken David
I loved this, and so did my dad whose name happens to be David! :) I cooked the chicken first and then added the vegetables like another reviewer suggested, and I sort of eyeballed it with the salami and prosciutto. I attempted to pound out our extremely thick chicken breasts but it still took a little longer than I thought for them to cook all the way through. But that's ok. :) I got lazy and didn't add the parsley or butter at the end.

Black Magic Cake
Tasted really good. Frosted with chocolate cream frosting like another reviewer did. I didn't have buttermilk so I substituted 1 cup milk with a tablespoon of white vinegar. Let sit for about five minutes so it can curdle and you're good.

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding
Pretty yummy! I didn't boil it like the recipe says to, but it thickened up quite nicely despite this. Just make sure that all the dry ingredients are completely stirred into the milk before you turn the heat on or else it will all burn to the bottom of the pan. Rookie cook's mistake I guess. :)
